wah-wah and anything else...
Hello,
In next months I am planning to design some MIDI interface that would be connected to a pedal controlling any kx effect you have. The idea is that every slider on the screen you have can be controlled via MIDI cable. I am tending to use ATMEL microcontroller to create interface between wah-wah pedal an MIDI connector on your Live! If there is anybody that has already made similiar stuff please let me know so I need not to invent a wheel. When I get some results I will let you know. Greetings, Aleksandar... |

you can basically control all aspects of Kx using midi...try looking at the midibox forum..got alot of good DIY controllers and designs to work from. I am currently working on One now.

If you only want to create a one controller pedal, this also can be done without a processor - you only need some CMOS counters, some CMOS multiplexers, one CMOS comparator, a slider, an 8-bit A/D, some resistors, driver IC, 2Mhz quartz generator and wires. You need to know some MIDI specification and then implement that bytes (3 bytes for one message) with the electronics and send it with 31250 baud... sorry for no more details yet, but this can be done... Greetings! TravelRec.

Hardwiring such logic circuitry is a solution of course.
However, unless you like to (de)solder much (as we all know TravelRec does ),the part count exceeds the ATMEL approach quite a bit as a/d, d/a and UART are all on-chip already. Also, you can alter functionality via software afterwards more easily. I would go for the MCU anytime in this case. (Just my personal view of course) /LeMury |

Hi TravelRec. !
I do not visit this forum often. I just want to tell you that I also prefer LeMury's way. Microcontroller is very poferfull stuff these days. If you would like to learn to use it I can send you my experiences... Greetings... |

Hi!
Thank you for your offer! I have to collect some infos about the MCs (possibly in my native language ) to understand the whole thing anyhow. LeMury has given me some hints and sources that I will check next time and then we will see.Quote:
