AC97 Codec in DSP
Hi,
I use Profx and the DSP for all recording leaving the kXmixer almost totally alone. I still seem to need the Gain and Line out levels unmuted and turned up in the kXmixer on the AC97 Codec page. My question is if there is any way to replace these two items from within the DSP so I can leave the kXmixer off my screen at all times. Thanks for any help, buvoltz |

Hi.
Thanks for the fast reply. I am using kX 3537 final with an Audigy 2 ZS. I also use ac97/2 with kxctrl -sac97 2 0 command so I can use ac97/2-in and mic-in at the same time. A2ZS is controlling a SBlive for a third source. All works fine with the exception of the AC97 codec page of kXmixer. buvoltz Last edited by buvoltz; Oct 17, 2004 at 05:56 PM. |

Hi,
Nice to get help so quickly! Thanks. I don't see this as too much of a problem, only wondered if it should behave this way. I still don't use kXmixer, I leave the gain and line in, on the AC97 codec page, unmuted and adjusted to good levels, then leave it alone. In the DSP, I have MX6 controling asio 0/1 but all other asio 'src's are direct with gainx controling them. I can reset the AC97 codec and I still need gain and line-in on the codec page. I think this may be due to the A2ZS itself. Note: The Windows "kX Master Mixer", kX0/LineIn seems to have no funtion at all which might point to the problem. buvoltz Last edited by buvoltz; Oct 17, 2004 at 04:10 PM. |

Hi,
Yes, if I reset the ac97 codec, I still need the gain unmuted on the ac97 codec page. This is the same on my second card, SBlive SB0102 5.1. buvoltz |

Ah,..now I know what you mean; That 'Analog Recording Gain' slider on ac97 page. To be honest; I haven't used kX Mixer for so long that I didn't even noticed why and when Eugene added that slider in between versions..! (besides that, I still use 3534 for my own music stuff. no slider there) Anyway; as soon as I upload a Src (3537) and select a AC97 source, it produces sound. I don't "mess" with ac97 page at all. By default that darn slider is unmuted and set to default gain. So it's fine with me But yes, I agree, I'd rather see such controls in the DSP, or not at all. /LeMury |

Thank you, that answers the question. Gain does always default to unmuted so no reason to open kXmixer unless I want to tweak that or set level for the ac97/2-in, etc.
