I'm a newbie at this kX driver system.. I've got a SBLive! Value sound card, model number CT4830, and I've installed the latest kX drivers available.. now my problem is I don't know how to efficiently configure the DSP (I get insufficient resources/registers when trying to load a 10band EQ) and I'm all confused about configuring it.. I hope you guys can help me into configuring it..
Below are some points that might be helpful: 1. I usually never use any external inputs (Line-In, Mic In) 2. Usually uses ASIO applications (like FLStudio) and plays MP3/WAV/etc.. sounds generated from the PC.. 3. Plays games (uses DirectX or similliar APIs) 4. Wants a multi-band EQ in the DSP.. 5. Uses the 2 analogue outputs to my Altec Lansing 4.1 speakers.. 6. Require the "Surrounder" item in the DSP Thanks in advance..

You need to get rid of some plug-ins to make room for the eq.
Best to build your own set-up using only plug-ins you need. I use ProFx plug in SRC, you can assign any source to it. In your case it would be FXBus 0/1, for MP3's and such, and probably 8/9 for game sounds, it is on mine anyways. I route them all into a mixer (MX6) and the output goes to the eq, then to the surrounder and finally to the epilog where you can choose your outputs. The first two are front left and right, provided you have switched the speakers as suggested. Otherwise, use analog rear. You'll figure it out. Look at the thread DSP set-ups and the Cubase thread as well. You can apply the same basic set-up for your needs, it's totally up to you. Pierre |

Erm.. can you specify what plugins that I should use? I'm totally fuzzy about the DSP plugins thing.. the article about the DSP didn't really help..

If you really need the eq, it will fit in the default DSP if you unload reverb and chorus, then replace timbre with the eq. Other than that, there's just too many possibilities. You'll have to read up on it. This Forum is full of helpful information, and so is the kX project website.
As a test, clear the DSP (right click on an empty spot for the menu). Load a Src plug-in from the ProFX menu. Double click on the plug-in. The drop down menu you see lists all possible sound sources on your card, physical and otherwise. Winamp and such always plays through fxbus0/1. Midi's and synth is fxbus 2/3 and so on. The router tells you all this. So pick fxbus0/1 on the Src, next load the k1lt plug-in also from the same menu, and run two wires from Src to the top two on klt. Double click that one, and choose your output. It's now directly routed. Add your eq in between. Try out different sources with the src plug-in to determine what plays where, then just load another one and route it where you want. Headphones, rear speaker, you get the picture. Add more to your liking untill you run out of resources, and if you do anything you like, save it. Pierre |

Hmm.. I'm not sure what some of the components do.. some only give stereo output while some only gives 4 channel output.. the surrounder requires more than these outputs.. so I use the default plugins.. modiy it.. I removed the prolog since I hardly use any input.. but what I can't get is what is what FX0/1~FX12/13 do.. can you give some explanation please..
Here's my current DSP config.. http://img117.exs.cx/img117/5043/my_DSP.jpg

That's an interesting set-up you have there, I'll have to try it myself.
If you look into the router, you'll se all the bus assignments. You can also change them as you like. FXBus0/1 is the main channel used by most applications, and is the one to use for multi-channel support, like DVD's. The surrounder will split it accordingly. 2/3 is synth, 4 to 9 are your AC3 outputs, etc. You really should take a look at this page, http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/routings.php?language=en and the bottom paragraph here: http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/qguide.php?language=en You seem to have it figured out basically, just keep tweaking it. Ok.. I've got most of the part now.. the problem I'm now facing is how the "lines" should be connected between the MX6 mixer and the surrounder.. or should I use the xRouter or some other things..??
