Rec from mic while playing from linein?

Hi everyone!
I'm new here, so the first thing is say hello too all this great community.
Unfortunatly i'm here with a problem to solve (ehm...)

I'm using the proFX plugins.
I have a midi expander connected to mic, and a small mixer connected to linein.
Basically, the mixer is used for microphones/instruments.
Now... i'd need to record from the mixer (linein) but hearing the midi part (mic).
In one word: i'd need to set the mic to "play only" and the linein to "rec&play".
But it seems there's no way to do this... It seems they're all part of the "AC97" group.
I tried to set multiple ProFX srcs, but i saw that when i change one of them, all the others are set to the same choosen value.
I'm unable to have one "mic src" and a separate "linein src".

Is there any way to solve this?
The only thing i can do now is to record midi, tranform midi to audio and then rec via linein listening my midi tracks from a new audio track... but this is a it heavy for my poor PC. And of course not good if you need to adjust your midi parts after recording linein parts.

What can i do?

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, i'm italian

No go, you can get separate inputs using Audigy / Audigy2 only...

Yes, but i have the sblive connected to an external amplifier vie coax cable (digital only).
I cannot use both cards together...
Moreover the onboard card quality is terribly lower than SBlive.

And i also have a "last minute" problem: i installed Cubase SX2 3 days ago. ASIO&C works fine, but too often cubase crashes just creating new tracks (not always.. sometimes, sigh!).
The real problem is it leaves something around. If i try to restart SX, it hangs while initializing. At that stage cubasesx.exe is not killable even with taskmanager (access denied). Impossible also to shwtdown properly, all i can do is a hard reboot. But when winn2000 tries to shutdown, it asks about a not responding application, again not kikllable. And this application is "kxrouter".

Anyonw knows anything about this? It seems half of this forum works ine with SX2. I have win2000, and nothing strange in configuration....
