Should I have uninstalled the previous ProFX v3 before installing v3.03? MX6 is OK, but I can't get ADC tweak window to open by double clicking on the ADC object or by right clicking on it and selecting Tweak.

Never mind, kX mixer encountered an error and needed to close. I restarted it and it's working now.

Just messed around the the ADC, SRC and MX6, very nice, no problems as yet

though i do have one request - taking the peak meter out of the ADC (with clip level and all) and making that a seperate DSP instance, in addition to the kX one - the peak meters in your plugins take up far less desktop space than the kX one, useful for direct monitoring of a number of sources

You probably mean adding a standalone version of the Peak meter as used in ADC. right?
Sure no problem, but I guess the clip hold indicator should be fixed at 0dB then, right?

Oh, LeMury (or Lex, I'll say from now) the adjustable realease is such an improvement in my humble opinion. Just great. I must use them a bit more but maybe even the fastest one looked a bit slow?

A new peak meter sounds cool. True, the default meter is too big. What do you guys think about a meter with more than 2 channels? I think there was a 6 channel meter sometime before, right?. Maybe a 16 channel meter would be cool too to monitor all asio channels, not sure.

Probably it wouldn't even waste too much cpu seeing how fast your new gui runs. It'll look sexy for sure . Oh Iwas thinking about 10k2's cards... those have 32 fxbusses? a 32 channel version too? :P

Perhaps but compared to 'Direct' almost everything seems to look 'slow' at start.
I'll make it a bit faster in next release.

>>Maybe a 16 channel meter would be cool too to monitor all asio channels...
Yep, that would surely look sexy.

Anyone else thinks a multi channel meter is usefull?

multichannel meter would be very useful, there's been times when i've had 5 or 6 peakmeters lined up across my second monitor

and 0dB for the clip indicator sounds good

Yes, I agree that a multi-channel meter would be very useful.
I often have multiple peaks connected to each FxBus (or other plugins) when testing things out, and it is a real pita, lining up all the indivdual peak windows, and it takes up much more space then is necessary, etc.

Quick Launch DSP window from your desktop, shortcut or whatever:

Ever getting tired of left-clicking kX systray just to open the DSP window?
Put a shortcut to this little util on your QuickLaunch bar and the DSP
will open with just one click.

http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kx_utils/kxdsp.exe

(needs kxmixer running of course...duh)

Actually I would have been even happier with a tray icon to the DSP object contents (or a selection of the contents.
That is the kX manager "effects" list so I could launch MX6, ADC without bringing up the DSP window.
3.03 is working really nicely though.

You can do this with Russ' PluginQL here: http://driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=92674

Sorry, but that's currently not possible
due to a parameter storage/retrieval limitation in kX.

I was addressing John Lodge's wish to "...launch MX6, ADC without bringing up the DSP window." So, I told him he could do that using PluginQL. kX DSP objects or kX Mixer pages, and other useful kX windows can be quickly launched using a keystroke combination (Ctrl Shift #). I was letting him know that.

Sure, I understand that,
but John Lodge's initial desire (which I share) was to
have a mouse operated 'direct access' Quick Launch menu listing all loaded Fx.

Russ's addon is nice if you like to/want to/can use key-board shortcuts in a 'steady' DSP config.
It however doesn't automaticly reflect the current dsp content.
A re-populated (non kX addon) menu always does.
Even after a global reset and without going through
a register/setup procedure.

Yeah, having a menu to choose what will be launched would be a nice and useful feature. I was just thinking, when I was setting up the PluginQL, I better remember what # I assign here, and I noticed that to be able to see what you want to open (ie. a reflection of the current DSP content) is a plus.

If you right click on the kX Icon in the system tray, one of the menu items is 'Effects', where you can see the currently uploaded effects, and open the tweak window for any of plugins, etc. Even so, such functionality might be a useful addtion to LeMury's new DSP quick launch program (it would still be 2 mouse clicks to open a plugin, but you would not have to navigate the menu).

<edit>
Actually, I guess it would have to be a seperate application (or command line switch or whatever) if you wanted to retain the ability to open the DSP window with a single click.

yep, not having to navigate to the effects submenu is indeed the only advantage but would still be a nice one since (as we all know) one can easily 'overshoot'
and activating the wrong submenu.

Perhaps a standalone 'kX QuickLaunch Bar' with a few items is a better solution.

Ah! as well as I had forgotten, the K launcher at the bottom of the ProFx objects will launch the DSP or any of its objects so that only one ProFx object needs to be launched.

So as far as I can see, that boils down to what is the most succint way of lauching MX6 by itself.

Is there a way to launch kX_Manager (into the tray) so that MX6 is running (either iconized or not).

Does not seem to be in the command line nor does automation appear to be the right way round.

Of course PluginQL will do it but I don't need and don't really want the added keystrokes.

I think I remember what you're referring to Robscix. I think one was for the 10 band EQ as well. I also think I remember Lex (former LeMury) saying some of the plugins were someone else's work, so he wouldnt make them public because he didnt know if they would consent to that. Or something like that.

Does this sound familiar?

EDIT:

Here's the thread I'm speaking about. The skined Reverb Lt pic is in this thread too closer to the begining of the thread: http://driverheaven.net/showthread.p...6&page=4&pp=15

Heck here are some pics:

No, Robscix is right.
I did release a profx2.x version which included some of the 'default kX effects'.
ReverbLt, stChorus and EQ10.

As to answer Robscix question;
Well, as these last couple of posts more or less proofs,
no one hardly noticed I did that.

Since there is quite some programming work/time involved to rework them
(it's not just adding a few bitmaps here and there) I've no plans doing that for just 1 or 2 guys.

Hey kX Users cast your votes for the new kX Plugin skins!!!!!! That is, if you would like that.
