I tried it but you were talking about being able to do the same thing with plugins tweak windows, at least that's what I understood.

Would it be possible to force the DSP window on top when executing kxdsp.exe?
Would it be possible to maximize the DSP window if it is minimized when executing kxdsp.exe?

Can you tell me how it's programmed? How does it work? Is it using something from the kX SDK?

Not easy, but should be possible.
However, as mentioned, launching an effect from any menu would still take 2 mouseclicks.

Possible yes, but there's no convenient way of doing so.
Tricky to say the least and not worth the trouble IMO.

Did you release the new Peak8 plugin yet? I did not think so, but the info on your webpage makes it look as though it is included in ProFX 3.x (and as far as I can tell, it is not, as of yet).

BTW: It looks great... Should be very useful.

Hey Lex, the multipeak looks nice, I can't tell from the screencapture but did you make the channel labels editable? I think it's an important feature.

About reskinning some of the stock plugins... well I'd rather cast by vote that you invest that time in improving/updating some of your other synths. I'll gladly do my best at skinning those as you suggested the other day. Designing those from scratch appleals me greatly. But do what you please, please

Hey there Miquel,..yeah but those edit boxes would get very small.
Not enough width for any text, and spreading the meters further apart is not an option.

I agree. Besides, one doesn't exclude the other here.
Asynth is in desperate need for an update so Yes let me know if, when and how
so we can discuss the technical details.

I figured it was somthing like that. Just wanted to be sure that I did not miss something (i.e. downloaded a cached copy of an older version or something, instead of the latest). In any case, I look forward to being able to use them, as I really do use multiple peak meters frequently.

Well, even if the edit boxes are tiny, the idea came because I'd like them named 0 to 15 for fxbus monitoring. But then 1 to 8 was ok too SoI thought that with editable boxes there'd be no need for such request. This is just a minor thing, no big deal, really.

For the synths I'll mail you pretty soon, I promise.

Ok ,I'll add editboxes instead, but they will be just wide enough to hold just a few digits.

One feature that I thought was missing from the kX Peak Meters, was the ability to rename the tweak window. You could rename the plugin, but the tweak window's title bar stayed the same, and I always thought that it would be much more useful, if the title bar reflected the new name, so when you are moniting the signal (and had renamed the plugin to reflect which signal it is), you could see this info, in the title bar of the tweak window, etc (i.e. when you activate the window from Windows taskbar, you cannot be sure which one it is, if you are using multiple ones). I think it would be great if your PEAK8 meter had this ability. The editable labels sound cool, but in some cases it would be easier to just rename the plugin to reflect the connections (and have something in the tweak window reflect the new name, whether it be the title bar, or a label or whatever (obviously, you would not want it resize the tweak window, so you would have to limit the text, but I think it would be useful, and there should be some room for it in the title bar)). In any case, just an idea.

Yes, I can understand the need for that in single Peak, but in case of the Peak8 I see little use in custom-renaming it's WindowTiltle.
But to be honest, I don't like user-renaming WindowTitle in general for a variatie of reasons. The fact that user can rename dsp_wnd tiltle should suffice.

When I did my testing, I used VC++ .NET 2003, which I believe is VC7.
Which file is giving you trouble? iirc, I had to modify plgmath.h and kDefs.h to do some things, but that was some time ago, and was with 3538h (not sure what has changed since then).

Yep that's VC7 and used to work fine for me also( untill it expired).
It's as if executables build with VC8 require some extra (newer)
OS updates/features/SPs etc for them to work properly.
Oh well, I'll figure it out after some good night rest.

[EDIT]
No, it's nothing with the kX headers&stuff , that's easy.
The builds run fine on the xp partition I made them,
but won't run at all on some other xp partition.
(yes, all vc8 dlls are there too)

Expired? I guess you are talking about an older Express Edition or something? I have VC++ .NET 2003 Standard Edition (retail). In any case, I am sure you will figure it out.

<edit>
Did you check it with Dependancy Walker?

Yep an older 2003 Express Edition, no retail.
Yep, checked with DepWalker, it reports the dll is 'totaly messed up';
"side by side comparison error ..bla..bla"
I think I'm goin to bed. Not feeling to well, which also isn't exactly the best
condition to solve such matters .

[Rectification]
It was a 2005 Beta trial that got expired.

Your welcome.
I just made some more code optimization and re-compiled it with .NET optimizing Compiler.
The plugs run even faster now and consume hardly any cpu.

, nice,

Be carefull Lex, you are on the level that if you optimize more the plugs can start to generate CPU power by themself, i just don't want you to have problems with the processors producers

btw, i hope you feel ok now

ADC and MX6 window's do not open, and eventually cause kxmixer to crash (some time after unloading the plugin and closing the DSP window).

The rest seem to work ok.

I really like the nice and compact Peak8 window. I did not realize that it was 8 stereo channels. How about a Peak4 for those times when you do not need 16 inputs?

BTW: I am using WinXP Pro SP2

That is correct. Only Eugene can add extra items to the fx submenus.

But do you experience the same as Russ?

That is too weird.
After a clear dsp add MX6/ADC manualy and check the info. It should read 3.04.
3538 does not always unregister plugs correctly.
Let me know.

Yes it reads "ProFx v3.04 -Release Build (3538j)" and clearing the DSP did not help.
I also tried rebooting and that didn't help either.
