@LeMury, I thought I would mention that k1lt works with my SB022x card in 3538i (since the driver now re-maps it to use the same outputs for the rear channels as the rest of the cards).

3538i and AC97

The version of AC97 in the distribution seems to have reverted to 03/01/2005 when there were all sorts of display issues where the tick boxes disappear or not dependent on mouse and up/down pointer use.

This is well known by the programmers and it will be updated later or with the final release. If you canīt live with it, switch back to 3538h and install the current package back.

Hi LeMury:

In case youre wondering if users are awaiting the 3538i updated ProFX and MX6 plugins, I'll be one to say, boy am I looking forward to having them! It seems like something's wrong in the DSP without 'em.

Havent seen u around for some days. Maybe you were on vacation, but whatever the case, welcome back!

LeMury,
Is there something we can do to fix the skin bug with the AC97 plugin that came with 3538i, so that we might be able to use it until the new version is available? It doesn't have to be pretty, just something to make it usable would be good (all the controls work, we just can't see them).

<edit>
BTW: What I was thinking/hoping is that we were just missing some bitmaps/skin.ini entries or something.

No, not without source code.
Besides that, it's an old test version containing bugs.

for me it seems that kX Mixer's settings for AC97 are linked to ProFX AC97 plugin.
so, why while you waiting updated versions not use kX Mixer AC97 settings?
you can route ProFX AC97 to whatever you want, but tweak it from the kX Mixer.

No, you cannot tweak all the settings through kxmixer. You can adjust the dry/playback signal through the AC97 page, but not the wet signal. In any case, it is not that big of a deal. Like I said before, all the controls are there, you just cannot see some of them, but it is not too difficult to adjust them (the labels are visible so you can see the values, etc), and I have no problems using prolog either, if need be.

man...UFX won't work with anything over 3537..Bummer
ProFx won't work with 3537 or 3538i....
I can't wait until we have one release where we can use ProFX and UFX at the Same time..that will be sweet....what do you think guys?

That's why I would wish that the plugin interface / SDK would not change with every new release...

To me, this looks like a real risk: noone knows if all the external programmers will do maintainance of their plugins and recompile them every time, and there is just too much good stuff to be lost. UFX and profx are just the big players...

Bye,
Hannes

Well Max said he would be more than happy to recompile UFX when 3538 is a stable release, I don't blame him..too many updates..might as well wait until it's all done... I like ProFx for making easy lean, Dsp configs...but if I want proFx 2, I lose UFX...and I like the reverb and filters..oh well I guess I'll just have to wait.

(well, UFX uses a bit more features of kX then other plug-ins do - and some of these features are broken in present 38 SDK. so i'm waiting for SDK to be fixed - i hope before kx38 final comes out)

Most of us are wiating right along with you Max!..any thoughts of adding a surrounder to UFX?
or maybe just adding more plugins, some of the standard ones..adding them to the UFX line-up? That would be great!..what do you think?

I've always used the ProFX plugin myself since I knew it, so I miss it very much now with the new 3538i version.
All ProFX modules give errors when loading them, except the Asio one.
Great work LeMury, looking forward to the updated version.. ! thanks in advance

I was wondering about your new Reverb lt, is this supposed to be a new Reverb Lite that is part of the default KX setup?, becuase I noticed it has only stero output. So I was curious about that.. I love the look of all of 'em I wish all the KX plugs looked like this.. That dark graphic look has a very professional look and feel to it..

No. It is the same as the original
exept for some small changes I made to save some dsp resources.
The only reason these 'default' plugs ended up in this pack is because I use them a lot
and need them at hand quickly when I switch between (older) driver versions.

I am asking becuase it is different then the Original. Th Reverb Lite that is part of the stock DSP set up has 4 ouputs your new Reverb lt has only two..thats why I was asking...they are nice anyway..the more the merryer in my books.

Yep. I also removed the input level fader. (Same on the chorus btw)
Like I said; "some small changes". Other then that they are identical to the originals.
