stereo FM generator
Can anyone tell if something like this http://www.heinecke.nl/stereocoder_en.html#soundcard
is working on any SB? Is there any possibility for a kx-plugin(some plugin that could use a physical out of a SB as a stereo encoded output to modulate the radio signal of an FM radio transmmiter) Just asking... ahh and if it might be usefull here are some schematics of a hardware stereocoder. http://www.pcs-electronics.com/en/gu...ematics#stereo

I have doubts, as SB lives/Audigy wont do the 192 Khz samplerate listed as a requirement. 10Kx dsps are locked at 48Khz.- but you can see in the pic hes using onboard sound using intels new HD audio that does do 192Khz. Maybe new X-Fi's could - but - hell, but the Intel mobo that has the HS audio - it would be way cheaper to do than buying X-FI (which KX wont work with X-FI)
its an intriguing proposition - the RDS stuff sounds like something I would like to learn more about. BTW - I used to use winamp (alone) to feed a ($25 US in kit form, RAMSEY Electronics) FM stereo transmitter and it worked great with out needing encoding (the transmitter did it, with a pre-emphasis mod too). Theres was even ways of boosting its output, if I had legal rights here to do so. (getting FCC license) Please explain why this software is attractive to you? - Im just curious also.. hehe |

Its true that there are kits that have built in stereocoder and also PCI with PLL FM exciter AND stereocoder.
I was just curious of the possibility. But as I remember (maybe I'm wrong) years ago now (by school-age) there was no 192khz issue. The only thing that is a MUST is 53khz capable output(as frequency response). But is any soundblaster capable of this?

re-read thier requirements - its specs out 192..
In digital audio - Freq response is about 1/2 of a samplerate. for the 53Khx - you need the minimum of 106Khz... no soundcards claim such odd ball number - next up - is 192Khz. The X-FI from sound blaster *claims* - but... as with the Audigy 2 is supposed work with 96Hhz - BUT - its a marketing 'gimmik' and the DSP is locked in at 48Khz - the driver simply converts. Not sure about X-FI. - but Im gonna guess - 'sort of' - Im willing to bet not natively and similar conversions would exist. |
