??? Sustain Pedal plugged in microphone input

I've plugged my sustain pedal jack (minijack adaptor) into the microphone input on my sblive!, and thanks inst2midi from nerds.de, I'm actually able to get some (MIDI) response from the pedal when stepping on it. I can also see a difference between pressing it, and letting go.

My (simple but possibly stupid) question is:
Can I use the kx drivers to make my sustain pedal work like intended, while plugged into the microphone input?
