EF-X plugins
EF-X plugins such as ReverbStation and TubeDrive do not have the "close" button in their interfaces (only have bypass, mute and reset). Is this my problem? Thanks.
I am using 3538j |

??? The minimize and close buttons are there at the top right corner of the window, and are visible even when the mouse is not over them.

I think this is related to using big fonts in windows configuration (120dpi vs 96dpi). Are you using big fonts?

Oh and when I saw this issue, I think the buttons were completely gone, not just invisible.

Ill confirm - 96DPI mode is fine - 120 DPI mode close/min buttons are gone.

What happens here is that at 1600x1200 screen resolution the 96 DPI mode is often painfully small. Whereas the 120 DPI is just about the right size.
Of course one can change back and forth but the re-boot in doing so is a considerable pain and the screen fonts are then quite small. Changing the resolution at the same time as changing to 96DPI is even more pain as objects on the screen move around and into nowwhere off the edges of the screen. In the end there is no good answer if 120DPI is not supported for 1200x1600 screens. It essentially makes applications that misbehave at 120DPI candidates for the discard pile. I still have one or two and have discarded several. After a while it is just another criterion in the decision to keep or dump and application. |

What happens here is that the title bar resizes itself (and thus resizes the window) based on the font size, and this is causing everything to shift over and down, but when the skin is a fixed size, it ends up messing up the placement of some of the objects. Also, because some of the skin positions appear to be calculated based on the font size, while others use absolute positioning.
It shouldn't be too difficult to fix, but may need changes from Eugene in the way skins are handled. Last edited by Russ; Feb 9, 2006 at 11:00 PM. |
