max, i dont want to spoil any surprises, but are you maybe working on any kind of an overdrive/waveshaper effect? i think the kx package really lacks a decent distortion effect and i've been searching for some algorithms and havent found much. are digital distortion effects essentialy just wave-shapers combined with a chain of filters?

well, i have some "waveshaping" effect in development (but it is not classic "distortion/overdrive" <for guitar> or something) and i'm not sure i will include it to ufx...

i'd be delighted to see it. even if its not ufx-skinned. and i dont really need a "classic guitar distortion".

as always - it's in dll ("kxufx.kxl") - see kxsdk\kxfxlib for example - there're sources for all of the filters shipped with driver....

i knew i was missing something... so, basically, every plugin contains a dane part (dsp assembler) and cpp part (to be compiled into a dll)? why are some important effect calculations in the dll? dont we want to make kx plugins as cpu-independent as possible?

if there is any tutorial on making new plugins, could anyone please point me there. i've read the 10kX assembly manual and feel like im still missing some big things - regarding the kx SDK.

thanks and im sorry if this was asked a million times, if that is the case you have all right to flame me to death.

>> why are some important effect calculations in the dll?

because in most cases the DSP resources should not be used for calculations that are not sample-specific
that is, filter coefficients remain the same for all the samples, but the DSP will be re-calculating them 48000 times a second
that's why DLLs are used for providing the DSP microcode with the required parameters
the actual sound processing is performed by the DSP, while the parameters are calculated by the host CPU

Loving the corsover plugin, sure beats running 6 EQ P5s and configuring them.

Thanks.

Spanktastic!

That crossover is great!

I'm running my new DIY monitors active with it, sounds fantastic!

Are there plans on expanding the crossover?

I'd love a first order version to play with for speaker testing,
and maybe gain adjustment on one set of outputs if it's possible? (some people can never get enough...)

Thanks for making this superb filter, it's wonderful!

"maybe gain adjustment on one set of outputs if it's possible?"

Throwing the gainx plugin on one of the outputs would create the same effect...

Hi all!

If there are problems with download from jandex.ru (original ufx-file) - I´ve mirrored the new version under www.electricstart.de (plug ins button).

Greetings!

TravelRec.

P.S. Hi Max! Great work again!!!

ta v much for the mirror, travelrec! I couldn't get the jandex or other links to work reliably. Reading your expansion project with interest - I have some PCM1800 samples, but they are very small to work with! Waiting on CS5331A samples... Matt.

i guess i should say that these plugins rock! i have been using them for a while - really saves on system resources when eq'ing and reverb is required

Don't really know what i was thinking, of course that's the way to do it...

Still, a first order version would be neat. Maybe make one plug out of them and make the order adjustable?
(if that's possible, haven't got a clue how those algorithms work).
A delay for time aligning drivers would be a real treat too, but now we're talking luxuries...
The delays already in there aren't useful for this, as you need to set the exact delay time.

Well, i can understand if this wouldn't be top priority, there are lots of other more important stuff.
Just a little wishful thinking on my part.

still if you know the exact time delay you want they are useful…
