What a load of crap, it totally ruined the game. New civ's were ok but this religion crap just makes the game boring and it's just to much to keep track of now.

I will most likely remove it and go back to the original game only.

And not thrown back to 2005 in any "good" way...

I've been told to give the game a try repeatedly.. "it's good! trust us!".... I think it'll be a LoL all over again.. but meh i'll wing it I figured.

Apparently one has to purchase the early access otherwise you are left spectating OR waiting for a beta invite.

However I was given a free invite, so win win right?

Now apparently this game has been in beta for .... what seems like eons. And beta would suggest they are still "fixing" things... however the moment I fired the game up, I was rather quite hopeful as it matched the eyefinity display fantastic. Aspect ratio selection wasn't any different then any of the source games, and it's apparently using a beta version of the newest source engine. What could go wrong?

Well the moment I started a game, I was presented with what clearly appeared to be a nice proper hud and overall gui, but not more than a split second later, the bottom hug grows until it fill basically 2/3rds of the entire screen, it's MASSIVE.... and frankly makes it near impossible to play the game due to being overcrowding. Well what the fuck right?

A little googling appears to show that near half a year ago some people started bitching about people with high resolution displays and or widescreens would have a game breaking advantage..... Arguments followed, long winded and rather silly in many aspects as people with single monitor/low resolution displays threw up their hands in a pure idiotic fit completely ignoring the facts of the situation or refusing to listen to potential solutions, many of which make the claim that attempting to play at above 1080p resolutions and or on super wide resolution should result in your immediate ban. Holy jebus batman, things escalated quickly on that front.

So it appears eyefinity was working as intended at that time. A few weeks later or maybe a month or so after these initial posts had shown up, a "patch" came out that appeared to break the hud, a little further digging appears to show that while the developers don't admit to the glitch being intentional, it in fact appears to be fully intentional.

So people that have a very high resolution or Ultra wide screen resolution will instantly experience a totally unplayable game.

I thought we were past this kind of idiotic design a number of a years ago when eyefinity and surround were still being worked on. Apparently not.

Heres an example screenshot of this idiocy.

I love playing myself some Metro 2033. It's a graphical powerhouse. Decent story, but it is a solid shooter. Thus, I was excited for Last Light to debut. Installed and almost instantly I started to notice some bugs. First I resumed my game to enemies being frozen in place. They still spoke and turned to look at me but other than that nothing. If I shot them, they would be "dead" in a sense that they no longer talk, however don't fall, allow me to search them for loot, and such. Then I knifed one just for lawlz, CRASH. I restart then just run through the area until an event is triggered in which enemies spring back to shooting at me again.
Which leads me where I am now...I am game-broken-stuck under the map. I can't restore previous checkpoint because it IS my previous checkpoint. I think I may have to start all over...which isn't appealing to me in the least.
<NUKE>

CD Projekt RED has confirmed its open-world RPG will be DRM-free, the developer told Kotaku that the studio is trying to move away from DRM altogether.

“We are trying to get rid of DRM,” game designer Maciej Szczesnik said. “If someone wants to pirate a game, eventually he will.”

“Which is bad, of course,” managing director Adam Badowski added. “But you can’t do anything about it, so. We want to give the best user experience possible. When we removed DRM, people on those torrents were actually asking people not to download our game, because we weren’t using DRM.”

Due to AMD's Never Settle Reloaded, I'm getting the add-on for Far Cry 3 totally free. I had some trouble last night getting the promo code to activate but it has been resolved since then. The title is presently downloading to my games folder as I write this. Average d/l speed: 1.5 mbytes/sec.

EDIT/UPDATE: OK, I now have a couple of hours under my belt and this game is so far "over-the-top" hilarious it's hard to explain. But, just take it from me, it's a load of fun! If it was a movie, I'd call it a "spoof" on a serious movie.

It was cheapish on steam so I bought it.

Steering is just horrible. I've used my Thrustmaster wheel for many games and the steering has been very exact but with this game, even though I've tried to adjust it as much as I can, it's like trying to drive a shopping cart.

Now, some could say that driving a truck is not like a car which is true, but the steering works just the same way, I've driven buses for 4 years and they're no different than trucks in this manner. I could just as well have played this with the keyboard, the effect is more or less the same.
