Change that fan on the Alpha for a nice quiet Pabst fan. The temp will prolly rise maybe 1 degree, but will be loads quieter

Actually, I just purchased all the components for watercooling w/pelt. Am waiting for all the stuff to come. So I won't have to listen to my wife yell at me anymore about how loud my computer is.

we had those new Zalman fans in work, they are pretty as well.. but my temps rose by over 5 degrees..... probably be fine for overclocking.
nothing beats a good delta for cooling

I put a Zalman in the Grandma rig and it keeps her XP 1800+ below 42 C in SoCal. Not bad and really quiet. She doesn't tend to OC. I need to get one of those 80 mm deltas (58 dBA) or a water rig. Heh..'need.'Mize

I haven't bothered to try to quiet my two 11 fan rigs in my small computer room, I just put in a noisey overhead fan to cover up the pc's noise.

Why does everyone seem to leave their power supply inside the case? I just recently moved mine to the exterior and it's really improved my air-flow...not to mention making it a lot easier to work on!

Well, I sort of did it on a whim and in a hurry on both my rigs and adjusted it specifically for how I keep them. One of them I just relocated to the back of the box and attached it thru some conviniently lined up holes...as if you pushed your power supply straight out of the back of your case until it was flush with the back. The other one the screws didn't line up so conviniently, so I transverse mounted it flush along the back. I couldn't afford the extra 6-7" in length on that one and it's a dual-fan thingy so I wanted to position the fans just so too.
It's worked out well, but I still got a few kinks to work out of both systems before I can clock them high enough to take advantage of the additional cooling....I just like the thought of them all breezy and comfy. (I'm weird that way. )I'll try and get some pictures to post...there around here somewhere....

lol thats not mine. That is compliments of the internet and the crazies that are out there heh. My case has the sides removed, but the PSU is inside. I dug out an old Gateway2000 tower, holds two psu's etc. I just move it to the upper spot. I use a couple 120mm papst fans and smaller deltas for the rest. Keeps the old T-Bird 1000mhz around 30c idle and 38c load @ 1600mhz so Im all happy happy

sheesh man..where do you live, in an ice box?
my load temps get up to 50c here in vegas (30c room). housemates disabled the a/c after they noticed i had closed all the vents except for mine and lowered the room temp to 16c.
