Sound card review not working - DH slow overall

Went to 3rd page of the newest sound card review and got a blank white screen.. it just was not working at all.

Well it is working now I guess.. about 5 minutes it took to load the screen from the time it happened until I poked around reading feedback issues to see if it had been reported already. Anyway- just reporting that and that the site seems very slow overall.

Every single page hangs for a good 5 to 10 seconds or longer after the ads show up.
Basically what happens when you open a page (a forum page, not a menu), the ads show up almost instantly, then there is a very long pause (5 to 15 seconds), then the rest of the page eventually opens. Been like that for last few days at least, maybe longer.

EDIT- I guess the bigger the thread is the longer the pause.. maybe that is just normal. I noticed smaller threads show right up. I guess it is just different from how it used to be.

seems ok now, was bad earlier before we fixed some stuff. clear your cache to see if it helps. also if you have another browser installed test with it to check its a problem with the site to your location/routing or a problem with the browser and the site to you.

I couldn't access DH for about 24 hours after clearing cache which I already e-mailed you about.. I could access it today however so my IP wasn't banned just as you said (like the DH firewall has in the past)... but still I couldn't access the site for a very long time for some strange reason.

Anyway beyond all that it hung up a few times again..( about a half hour ago now).

I was just trying to post a reply to a post and DH was unresponsive for 5 minutes or so, then I went to edit a post and it hung for about 3 minutes.

I did a Tracert/ ping test with WinMTR while DH was unresponsive and the whole time I couldn't connect to DH, I had no problem pinging DH's server.

So I dunno what's going on. Usually DH is about the fastest site on the net. So I am just reporting it.

I am not really looking for a solution to this individual problem - I have already done everything that I could (cleared cache/ dns/ etc), but I do not have any other browsers installed to test as you asked. I have no general internet connection problems at the moment.

It was round 3AM EST I guess.. Here is what it looked like when DH website was unresponsive:

That is the part I thought was strange. Oh, I should mention that earlier today that sound card review page 3 hung for about 10 minutes again too, it happened when I hit the "next" button, not using the side menu. Other than that and the above "hangs" it has been normal.

Really wish I could help with this. everytime I come onto the site its fine, and checking loads and logs the site has been working fine for the last few days.

If you can, install firefox or opera as a second browser just to check site responsiveness if you can get on.

Working fine today..

I will have to try out Opera if it happens again so I can experiment and see if it makes a difference.

I have never really liked FF, but it has been a long time since I tried it.

glad its working again. not sure whats going on with your connection to DH. I also checked our hardware firewall log and your IP range hasnt been banned for quite some time.

Anyway any more issues let us know.
