An Idea for a Forum

How about a Hot Deals, or a Good Deals sort of forum. I just recently ran across those cheap HDDs and I think it'd be cool to have a forum where we can have just good deals posted. Sometimes people don't shop around or they see a good deal thats always good to hop on. I know one of the best yearly deals is the Sears Multimeter by crafstman. Yeah its not a fluke but they sell it for 3,5, and 10 bucks. What cha think?

I'd even write up a rules list for it needed.

I think a sticky thread would be appropriate for that idea, as creating a sub-forum for something that may have one or two threads a month isn't really that worth it

I just don't think a sticky would be that great. If enough people post good deals as they come out often then it will make it quite difficult to even find something you are interested in. It is almost counter productive having to search through good deals + comments. I have had about 10 pretty good deals come up over the last 2 weeks that I never knew really where to put them. I dunno, it just doesn't seem very convenient to be in a sticky.

I understand, but there is really not enough demand for this to dedicate a whole forum to it mate. a few posts a week doesnt warrant a forum. we already have a dealer forum in which people can see the good and bad dealers. Makes sense to have discussion on deals these or other retailers might have going at the time.

This is the first time ive ever heard it mentioned by a member and if its only you posting a few deals a week......... well you get the idea, right?

I really appreciate your views and input though, thanks.

Okay, that is interesting, and you never know on what kind of feedback it will recieve. Obviously if it takes off then itll get changed right. If not, then I imagine well keep it a sticky.

I thought that we were supposed to post them in the existing BUY / SELL area? Is that not right?

Maybe just renaming that forum to reflect an expanded level of content would be enough?

Nope - I didn't even really know that AnandTech had forums. I don't frequent that site much. I only view this site for the most part:

I get most of my links to reviews and news via RSS, and sometimes links to AnandTech stuff is there. That's about the only way I access that sites content.
