First, I've moved your thread to an appropriate forum. I'm suprized you posted it in the Feedback forums.
Have you run a virus and spyware scan? I'd probably run more than one if the first results are negative. It sounds like you have something nasty.

I posted it on the feedback forum because the front page of DriverHeaven is taking a whole lot of CPU time, so I figured it's something worth investigating. Why do you think it's a malware problem? It's specific to DriverHeaven and Firefox. It could be a problem with a Firefox plugin I'm using, but I'd appreciate if it could be tested by others.

Ah, I see, I didn't get that from your initial post. My original thoughts still remain though, there is something running on your machine which you don't know about, good or bad.
I'm not having trouble with any browser.

tested it in a variety of pcs with various browsers, although I dont have the cpu ET3D has.
CPU usage is normally around 1-4% for the browser on the front page. Im guessing the flash ads are raising the % a little for older machines, although my mobile celeron Dell laptop was only sitting at 6-8% in IE7 on the home page. Other input would be good. moved back to feedback forum. |

One oddity I get with Firefox 3 is that the center contents (article, news, competition) of the front page takes a while to appear, like a minute or two, or three. Not like that with IE or Opera, and no high CPU usage.

Neighborhood screw up.

I think I had this problem a while back.
I had to reinstall Flash, as something was wrong with it. It was either that or the browser itself. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Looks like it's mainly the fault of Google Lively. Once I uninstalled it CPU usage dropped, although it's still pretty high, especially when moving between windows.
