Suggested products for review?
This has crossed my mind several times, course i can easily see how a number of people would probably submit a suggestion to review a specific product and majority not getting thier wish... course that's just tough luck for them, oh well.
But anyways, considering. One thing i haven't seen reviewed very well at all imo by ANY site so far, is those Component to VGA converter/upsampling boxes becoming more prevailent on the market. Specially this product that was just recently released that appears to be the most up to date and rather slick looking little unit. Considering V3's wealth of work with video related tasks, I'm positive that would be your fortay v3.. right? (no.. maybe i'm not positive lol.) Anyways, it would be nice to know how good a picture these conversion boxes put up, compared to a direct feed to a hdtv and then converted to the hdtv i think would be a good comparisons start... Followed up by see how it fairs on a few different lcd widescreen monitors or even a CRT for kicks. Any review i've seen has been pathetic and lacking any form of information other then it "works" which isn't say much as you can have something "work" in that it's showing the picture, but is it any good is another question.. and going by a youtube quality video.. can't say much of anything about it. a well, i figured i'd through out the suggestion... Figureing that it's one thing missing from the list of reviews being done, and considering that it's computer oriented and gaming oriented. Heres the product i figure would be worth while looking into: XCM 1080p Mega-cool vga box

When we select and accept products for review we need to attempt to ascertain the level of audience who would find the product interesting, because we have to pay people to review them.
In the case of this product it is merely adapting an analogue signal and in 2008 I don't believe even as a niche product it is interesting enough to warrant a review. After all even in a gaming sector, most people would just buy a VGA cable to play the xbox on their monitor or TV if it lacked component inputs. Having spoken with Stuart he feels the same. Appreciate your input though, always good to hear if you guys want to get something covered on the site. In this particular case however Judas its not even slightly interesting to 99.9% of people. First time ive even heard it mentioned and I get considerable emails requesting specific products for reviews from our public. |
