Profanity in Thread Titles

Is there any way of blocking this? I'm not whinging, I swear like a trooper in normal conversation. But if you've got kids around or you're at work and you open DH and see the word 'f**king' on the main forum screen it's not too clever. I know that I can hide forum sections, but I want to be able to see every section so that is no good for me. Is it possible to block bad words in titles?

Under normal circumstances Any Typical words used in the heading through out the forum are edited and the user is pm'd about this.

All or most regulars already know about this... And No doubt you are refering to the one in the FWZ and any thread posted in there don't appear on the front page.Just in the forums.

The rules in that forum are a different to the rest of dh..So i am not sure if this is a break of rule..

Im pretty sure most mods or admin has seen it already.. So it may be best for admin to answer you better.

Im just giving you a little heads up to the normal routine.

Mig was spot on. flame zone is a bit different, however id like the main forum section to be viewable by all, regardless of location.

That said, the only way to do it is to turn on the swear filter, which annoys me as I dont think we should be oppressively editing people. So its off.....

DJ edited the thread title and we can continue to do that if anything bad shows up in the new thread on the main forum index list.

It could be neat if it was possible for users to turn off individual sections in ones profile for either the main forum view or for the "latest" post function, whichever might be possible to do. Then a user could avoid certain sections for whatever reason.

Edit: mkk, you already have that option. If you head back to the forum index you'll see a button the right hand side of the title bar for each section. Click on the button and it either 'hides' or 'reveals' that particular section

Nope. No need for filter and it's a whole lot better without filters & censorship. I've got no problem with folks using whatever colorful language they chose. I have difficulty holding a conversation without swearing. And boy, you should hear me when I'm round my friends playing football on the 360!! It's just becomes difficult when you have a 7-year-old next to you and you open a screen and on the index you have the word word f***king there. Same thing happened last year when I was work too. The thread titles can cause problems like that
