Re: Can't View System Specs...
Thanks for your email Dyre, I can't see what's wrong in the source tho.
Is it always the DriverCleaner ad you see in that place, we have regional ones here that are different. But when I checked from the US test server it still showed ok.

Re: Can't View System Specs...
Just for note, I'm using FF3 and I now have this issue.
And I just cleared caches and deleted cookies from the jar. |

Re: Can't View System Specs...
Back up under Vista again and the problem is back. The DriverCleaner AD stays 'on top'.

Re: Can't View System Specs...
Dyre seriously I have seen issues like this from you for quite some time even on NGOHQ. It's either XP or IE so I would suggest eliminating one or the other and test again.
I still think its your browser but I will STFU

Re: Can't View System Specs...
using Opera 9.6 on OS 10.5.5 the same occurs, however when I first view the system specs they are on top, then as the ad image changes (ie the letters coming one at a time in the DC ad) thse appear over the top of the add, and once they're all there, the entire ad jumps to the front
EDIT: took a screenshot: ![]() EDIT 2: appears to be an opera issue, no problems using Safari 3

BTW, I clear cache and cookies at least once per night using CCleaner. And, I also think I made the point that this happens under VISTA and FF, too. So, it's not an XP and IE problem only. Here's what it looks like right now under Vista and Mozilla Firefox 3.0.3. (I brought up the FF Help just to show I'm using it. )![]()

Re: Can't View System Specs...
looks like it's a problem with the way browsers are handling the flash player, or the flash player itself - dyre have you updated to the latest version of the flash player?

Also, just a note of clarification: It seems this problem ONLY happens when you try to view the FIRST post of the thread and it's a short post. Once the OP responds and that post is below this particular AD, it'll show up fiine. It's just a placement problem for now. So, anyone who is trying to duplicate this problem, you need to do it on the first post of a thread where it's above this AD. |

Re: Can't View System Specs...
The original problem is caused by not assigning the flash file the wmode:opaque parameter in the html source, I rectified this and it solved the issue for me in all the major browsers, we don't always have control over the source for the flash file as sometimes they are hosted by 3rd party companies on behalf of our advertisers. But all local ad's hosted by our system should have the correct parameters.
I have seen this problem on a lot of sites over the years, it's a royal pain. Switching the position of the ad to the other side of the review listing, will probably solve the issue so I will look at sorting that out. Thanks Craig EDIT: I've moved the ad, hopefully that will solve the problem for now. I've also spotted an error in part of the code that will effect the scripted version of the flash code, which may also be having an impact so I'll get that rectified as soon as.
