We should lock old threads after two years old? That way people don't bring up old threads anymore. If you need help I be happy lock old threads hehe.

Some forums lock old threads, others move them to a read-only archive area, but it just seems to be the occasional twerp that can actually be bothered digging into the pit of oblivion.

its an idea but it doesn't really happen enough to be a massive issue for us now tbh. only takes a moderator a few seconds to close a thread.

this would also disturb big ongoing threads like the randomness thread

As Z has said, this isn't a problem that can't be dealt with by our active mod team, mass-moving threads will break the thousands upon thousands of links to topics on our boards so that's a no no.
