Hello, Can you all give me your feedback on your DH experience so far in 2009. Everyone happy? unhappy? liking the content? wanting something we aren't doing?

2009 was even better than the previous years. No problems for me, with ads slowing down or whatever. Everything is top notch as far as I am concerned.
It feels really good being a member here.
The only thing I could think of is some keychain or something with DH logos. Considering your personal taste, I believe it would be easy to at least design such.

I think Allan was more after feedback to do with the site itself than possible merchandising prospects

What do you think of the frontpage layout, is the navigation bar easy to use? Do you find yourself lost in the forum listings, do you get stuck at the end of page and find you have to manually backup.

That sort of thing.

Well, on that last part, yes. Some times I would like to have an extra

after that, i say things are pretty awesome.... i know Allan has everything else i could think of taken care of already....

DH gives out free stuff all the time! awesome
we gots an arcade! sweet!
we has crazzy reviews of awesome hardwares! can always use more but theres only just so much cool hardware.....
we even have game reviews!
we got a one stop source for tech news....

all i can think of is a DH chatroom..... place where members can stagnate and talk real-time without need of msn and such.... seen it done on other forums...

Sometimes when scrolling the forum list I feel a bit cut short at the end. Perhaps adding even more forum activities would remedy this. Like seperate sections dedicated to just overclocking and just benchmarking seperately. Also a forum dedicated to all and everything off topic would be nice, extra catogories would be excellent. Also anything else you can think of, maybe a forum where you can discuss the highest rated games of all time in any category. Idk, but I know there are a lot.

Off point, 2009 is when I joined driverheaven, I have known of this site for ages and ages. I used to think I was too afraid to socialize in such a vast and dynamic atmosphere and community, but joining up has expanded my outlook on this topic.

Thanks for putting up a really good website. i have always loved being here and would live here if I had a choice. Really it's what I've always wanted.

Well, in all honestly DH in 2009 has been awesome for me, so I have no complaints.

Aside from the obvious reason why I'm happy, the theme selection has of course been vastly expanded (<3 Dead Space), the site feels as nippy as ever and the quantity and quality of the articles is only heading in one direction, up.

So really the only thing I want from DH is more of the same really :-)

It's great. The forum is a pleasure to use, the reviews are always the best out for any one item, and the layout is easy.

All I could really ask for is more of the same. Also, it'd be nice to see a few more mainstream parts given a thorough DH review.

DH is great the way it is, fair reviews, good tutorials, wide array of topics discussed. The look and operation of the forum itself is great....... hard to find anything that needs improvement.

Personally I would still like to see an "old gear" section, but the majority of members would probably have no use for that, as they are more into the latest gear and anything else is trash can filler.........

well I'm not sure about the chatbox idea, seen them turn into unmoderated bitch-fests on other sites

quite like T's idea of an old stuff section (I wasn't kidding in the competition thread about retiring the 9600Atlantis, it's still running in one of my comps

), there's surely enough folk who still end up scraping around for an ancient driver or whatever that it could be useful , no ?

otherwise, happy happy happy

loving the themes for the most part (not liking red is my own personal problem :P), great competitions

, excellent reviews.

only thing I could think of, maybe more reviews of stuff toward the lower end of the pricing spectrum maybe ? I'm poor, I like to read about stuff I might actually be able to afford every once in a while

I am very satisfied.
DH reviews have saved me a ton of cash on overpriced products.
I like the fact that there is very little hype about new stuff or fanboys.
I enjoy the recent changes in the staff and look forward to balanced moderation and professional attitudes as well.
I am very grateful that DH has been around this long, and for an old guy like me, it keeps getting better and better.
DH moves forward and continues to evolve, offering a very good site for information, entertainment and fun.
DH vids would be cool....

I really like this community and forum.

I come here every day, and it has never let me down.
The forum is nice and tidy. Everything is easy to find. A link at the bottom of the site would be nice though. Like the one above to go back to a subsection of, or to the total forum itself.

The reviews are top-notch and not biased towards anyone or anything as far as I can tell

Reviews of some cheaper stuff around would be cool, but I don't think you guys have enough time to review every other piece of hardware available..

The competitions are awesome and a nice little bonus to the site. Just participating is fun, and winning is the icing on the cherry on the already fabulous cake!

All in all, I am a happy customer.

I thought of adding some kind of best-buy guide.. but the buit-a-pc / hardware guide of Kris23 already covers that..

I like the contests that has "what products you want to see ? " it is far better than "say something funny " ones , there are creative ideas from members that I really enjoyed reading them , it is better for both company and customers and you don't have to wade through tons of silly replies . Think of it

Regarding the contests will you be going to organize GOTY this year

I found surfing DH on my Blackberry pretty easy, now I can surf it anywhere in the world, and my company pays for it. LOL
I thnk it has been mentioned, but the consumer level reviews are always a plus, even though I love the Quad this or extreme or overclocked this or that bits are worth a look every time.

The SFF Forum within hardware discussion hasn't had a new post since July last year, just thought i'd point it out. Had a random thought of a "Classic" or "Legacy" hardware section within hardware discussion but i dunno it probably wouldn't get filled.

Also @ Craig or Z, how are your thumbnails handled in reviews? Is it a custom DH Script or a VB Plugin? A friend of mine wants to know

If you're referring to the way the images pop-up full-screen it's handled by a customised version of lightbox: Lightbox 2
