Browsing seems unusually slow?

Over the past 2 days I have noticed that everything takes a few more seconds to load/ open on this site than usual...for example posting a reply in a forum...I know it's not my itnernet connection because I have opened other pages with the same speed as usual.

Maybe nothing has changed...maybe my senses are sharpened

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

Yeah I have noticed some slowdowns as well. I wouldn't let it worry you however we are moving to a new rack of servers shortly.

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

As Allan mentioned we're in the process of moving soon.

Also I've been doing a lot of reworking and optimising of the site code. So hopefully we will have a much faster experience for all. There won't be many cosmetic changes that have been discussed in the feedback topic yet. As these things take time.

Thanks

If anyone is having specific speed problems please detail the problem and browser, location etc and I will investigate.

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

this is not just an issue with DH... over the past few days there was a general slowdown of the net... some sites load slowly, others won't even open... my upload is acting up too, i haven't been able to upload anything for the past few days... connections with the servers just keep failing... i wouldn't worry about it... it looks like there may have been a spike of connected users on the net the past few days (at least that's what i read on some forum)...

The IPv4 pool is estimated to run out in few years and bot net's are the new super computers

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

Takes almost 30 second to load , Using Google Chrome , Egypt , 512KB/s.

Btw , yes underwater cable has been cut twice in less than year. It were days from hell.

Edit : Also , I get this message very often from yesterday after clicking on "new posts "

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

It was slow for a few days, other sites were also, but DH is "snappy" today

Re: Browsing seems unusually slow?

That is a very strange error indeed. It doesn't look to be one generated by our server. I'm not sure what is causing that.

We haven't made the upgrades yet, it has been delayed while we test the new configuration.

Thanks

That page looks like custom ISP's error page from the DNS server.... I've got few service not available messages. Have you tried to use OpenDNS's DNS servers ??
