Competition rules
I've noticed that in the recent competitions, there have been new forum members who have been spamming multiple entries. Should DriverHeaven limit one entry per member in the future?

Re: Competition rules
It depends on the nature of the competition and how it is judged - I believe some involve random numbers

Re: Competition rules
I hear what you are saying, there are several reasons why we allow members to enter multiple times.
Members who want to be active in the thread and 'increase' their odds - end up opening multiple accounts and have even used proxies so we can't check. With a single account they can enter as many times as they want and they aren't punished - and we don't end up with a few thousand 'never to be used again' accounts on the forum. Most companies like multiple entries from active members anyway - and I think people who are dedicated to this should get a bit of a reward in that their odds to win might be slightly higher than someone who appears to post once and vanishes making no input elsewhere on the forum - there is a chance in the slogan threads that they might have 250 rubbish entries anyway, so its hard to tell. As Isaak said, sometimes competitions are random as well so if someone is sitting for days trying his best to increase his odds then thats only fair - and yes we can check who is using a script, they get omitted immediately. Its a no win situation to be honest but we find after trying every configuration over the years that what we have in place works best. People still complain, but there is no single system we can use when everyone will be jumping with joy. |
