Single post displaying/linking

I noticed when I click on a post # within a thread I don't get a new window with just that post in it alone. If I wanted to link to a single/particular post within a thread without having the whole thread come up I can't. Is this now normal for the site?

you can link to any post in the thread by adding #(post number) after the thread url , however it won't open the the post in a new page , it just shows it directly like the first post.

Most sites give you the ability to link to a single post not to a page of a thread like the link you just posted. A separate or new window opens when a post # is clicked on with just that specific post showing and one can link to the post exclusively. I am pretty sure that was possible here in the past.
