prompted to sign up for MSN when i visit this site

try to use your software FW to block "uk.msnusers.com" and the popup should stop. the code is here somewhere i know one of it at "message in between threads" in feedback, go there and you will get the popup!

k ill give it a go

i use norton and tweak xp to block popups but this un gets past em all *&^*^%&^% microsoft

you see the msn address loading in the screenshot? that's from a picture that was hosted for one of the post in someones msn doc folder, I;m betting it's that external link when loaded that causes non-subscribers to passport to be prompted to sign up? so if people have been using it to host images this is what'll happen

i dont think you need to reboot.. just block that address. and reload your page.

cairo, only norton(firewall) will do. you dont need tweakXP for this
well norton firewall? or norton antivirus?
if its norton firewall...
open NFW... click Personal Firewall click Configure
at Home Networking tab , click Restricted , click Add ,
select "Individually" and then type this...uk.msnusers.com on the empty box.... done!

Hate to focus all the blame on one person, but this problem was caused by one of our members' postings. Any thread that has IMG links to uk.msnusers.com --or, I suspect, any MSN Groups site-- will prompt you to log into MSN before displaying the picture. We'll clean up the links, and we ask that our members do not link to sites that require sign-in. If that is the only hosting you can afford or are comfortable with, please post a URL link rather than an IMG link.

that's what i really want it to be but i just couldn't tell you to do that. i only can made out the source code of a page that i found and sent it to Zardon and finally the right method for solving that problem comes. Thank you.

that were partly aimed at me so obviusly if i carried on using msn i have to use your http:// option? i wernt to now that it would require a login for the pics,preumably http:// url don,t.

am i correct!

i have only just found out why from javafox through a private message.i have used msn to host a few pics throgh my passport and its asking u to log on to veiw that is the most likly reason.

i have seen a few others using msn to host pics but they have used the httpP:// instead of img url. most lickly using img when it comes to viewing private files that require a passwond for the pic.

That explains why it only happend to me once, then I reported it and took off my pop-up-blocker, and it never happend again
