Thanks for your input guys, I think cellphone may be going a bit far.

But I'm thinking perhaps Browser choice could be an option.

The main purpose for the specs menu I think is bragging rights / troubleshooting.

Often when someone has a problem you can use the system spec to answer questions about what they're running so browser choice fits that category.

The one problem with including the browser is that it leads to other things, like a gateway program if you will. Would antivirus be included? (it can be the problem as exemplified by my Kaspersky refusing to let me play FEAR Combat) What about other protective programs? How specific are we trying to make the system specs? I think hardware is fine, as it's usually the biggest source of problems, the software can be revealed in the thread/post if relevant.

Soundcard and Speakers are the best choices.

Burner is too model dependent, there's a million different drives but they all have slightly different model names.

When you use the quick reply, it doesn't refresh the page, it uses AJAX this means the spec menu isn't generated because it only inserts the message portion of the html. Refreshing the page will show the menu on your last post, it will always appear to other members viewing the post, it's just that intially page when you've added a post without refreshing the page.

Even when browsing, I can't see the spec list (apart from the 2 seconds earlier) for the last week or so. Not big deal, interesting to know that it isn't a server issue.

It seems it only appears, and only for my account, when I post a new message.

I haven't seen them for a few days either. At this point, though, I always assumes that it is because I work in a building with very secure firewalls etc and so sometimes websites show up very oddly.

Also, for me, if I click on the system specs link it just routes me to the HH homepage.
