Slow-

Today I noticed the site is very slow. It takes up to a full30 seconds for anything to happen when trying to visit the site via the main page.. Sometimes the forums are slow, sometimes normal, but the main page is extremely slow.. Just letting you guys know.

yes we know, hit rates are up, new drivers, and omegacorner is hosted on the same server, nothing I can do right now with it. need a faster server, cant afford it. noone donates, so pop unders are now here.

Actually for me, right now, the site is really fast, I'm enjoying it.

its fast right now yes, we have tried optimising more things/jeff/andrew/uberlord, but our server has limits and hosting both omegacorner and DH along with a few lesser sites takes its toll on busy periods. like when we get over 1 million impressions in a 24 hour period. which happens...

In time i will be hopefully improving speed, but unfortunately as everyone knows, speed=money, so I am testing various options right now and working from there.

BTW, what is the lowest amount you can donate.... (that would still be reasonable)... and is it monthly... (maybe you could point me out to a earlier thread or list them here Zardon)

You can donate whatever you want, and no, it's not a monthly commitment.

well....when i get settled in a little better...a car (i have one..just need to liecence it).... food....and a few things settled..... i might be able to donate anywere from $25-$250 a month... (varring).... although some months i might not be able to at all... Depends.... I would LOVE to help out...but i'm stuck as is....BTW, i don't know how i could transfer the money as i don't think pay pal will work with my bank....

any amount judas, there are no limits either way, if you cant donate via paypal and want to, there are other options available in PM.

The whole net seems to be stodgy for the past couple of days .... I wonder if there's a new exploit?

this is the only site that is zooming for me ... the net does seem slow in comparison to the rest of the web ... either or BT Broadband are having problems

no problems with btopenworld at present. but there has been the last couple of weeks. everything is going smoothly for now unless your using bt dial-up service.

The way I look at it, if every member donated 1 dollar- think about that for a second.. Even if all active members donated 5 dollars- I bet that would be an amazing boost for DH. If I had a job I would donate more. Hopefully soon.

yes i did have a few teething problems with BT broadband for the first time but every site seems slow bar Driver Heaven , its really weird ... when i'm d/l things it d/l between 56kb - 60kb ... might be dns servers??

id say the download rate is around normal mine is the same 56KB-60kb unless things on occasion get really slow.

the lowest my BB service has ever got were a measly 5k!!! that were when i switched to BB almost 11 months ago. bit confusing at first and could not change service provider having the Small snag of a 1 year contract where if i left would have to stump up £29.99 a month for the full months remained at the time which the contract runs out in the early days of October.

i was the same my years contract was up 2 months ago .... i might switch to dial pipex in the future ... its cheaper and you can get the same (static) ip number allocated to your account and its still cheaper than Bts service
