Driverheaven loaded something that killed IE
Man, i really thought i had the screenshot of what happened...but after trying to paste......nothing was there...somewhat upset me...but life goes on...
OK, here's the deal, this isn't the first time i've noticed this.... I'll be looking at a thread...or using the QUICK REPLY, typeing in a message when all of a sudden, my browser shows ACTIVITY (as if it were loading something)..... and suddenly, the pages sorta gets all scrambled...... and ends up freezing up showing the mouse "hour glass" and page loading bar at the bottom.... but everything is clipping overtop of it... load task manager only to find that IE is not using an CPU juice at all (0)...... the tast manager shows it as running with no problems..... everything..... ON IE my buttons at the top still buttonize and flash when i move the mouse over them, but they don't do anything.... it's like driverheaven locked up IE from doing anything at all......... it's just plain weird and i can't just replicate it every time.... if just i'll be looking at a thread... or typing..and it'll decide to start loading something... nothing i've typed or anything should do it.... and because i'm extremely high speed internet... i can't slow the sucker down to see if i can read quick enough what it might be loading.... it's all over in a split second...... And it's worring me because it's happening more and more often...at first, i thought it was just my 90mhz machine doing whatever.... then i noticed it on my sisters machine..... hmm funny i thought.. now it's happened twice on my main rig......

Sounds like Spyware is having a good old time on your system. try this: http://www.zerodamage.com/spyware
follow the steps and see if that helps you.. also consider using mozilla. No problem with it on any site I've visitted so far. And no 20+ unpatched vulerabilities either. And it can block popups built in and a plugin to block advertisement banners, etc. it is sweet. |

DIE IE, DIE!

you check out that link i gave going to MS?...... the more i check into it.... it's ad related..... the adds REFUSE to finish loading and finally just kill IE... i'm letting one IE i have running either give me an error or something..... as for installing another browser.... it's really the last thing i want to do....... i HATE netscape.... and opera..... and mozilla.....er.....everything else... they feel so completley sluggish and slow/bloated....... but i will try one that is reliable.... mozilla seems to be the source..... or something.... i want some thing small and DOESN'T install other crap.....(bad past experiences)

Mozilla is a better browser than IE anyway, and its certainly not bloated or slow, in fact its more compact and faster than IE. I use both IE and mozilla extensively.
All the links work fine you showed, on IE 6 PC, Mozilla on PC, IE on Mac and Mozilla on Mac, so its either an ISP caching problem, or something wrong with your windows OS. |
