I know we have a view new posts buttion. but how about adding view active/recent posts buttion/link.

just like a search for new posts a search to show posts like less than a week old or something.

theres sometimes i missed a post and could of helped or would o liked to weighed in. unless i soure the forums i miss alot. Anyhing not in the View new posts gets missed by about of people i bet.

some sites have a veiw new posts since you last logged in buttion.

dont you use the highlighted forum colour (meaning new posts in that forum) to go into the relevant forum and see what is new? I think between that and the view new posts option it covers really anything we could need.

I believe that it would have a very positive affect on the forums and with out doubt would increase the activity here.

From a personal view I believe it would save me from missing a lot of posts that I end up missing and finding later when looking for something else. I feel bad knowing I had the answer or could have helped. It seems my and I search many others seem to go to the threads that show up in view new posts. If go browsing posts it’s hard not to want to dredge up old topic's etc.

I usually hit the site, hit forums view new posts. Respond to those of interest and pop back off do some other stuff for a while and repeat. But then again I may not be on for a day or two. It’s a while after those periods when I run into missing threads later. I've ran into things that been running for maybe a week or two and I’ve just popped on at the wrong times and as it never showed up when I hit view new posts.

Another good point is it will help new users to reply to the active threads as apposed to dredging up subjects that are very old.

I have an idea… Let’s see if any other board members want it and give them a chance to weigh in. I’m going to start a thread in off topic with a poll. what do you think?

Neon ill be honest and say I really dont know what you mean, we already have a "view new posts", and even if you dont use that, you can see the highlighted forum colour since you were last in. Then when you go into that forum you can see the highlighted thread subjects for new posts.

When you click on the link to the actual Fourm don't you see wheere it gives you the option to view new posts?

Ok ...

basically a link to click the show every single thread that was posted 2 since my last visit, be it a 12 hours, a day, a week, whenever.....

for exaple i signed up at a website forum nov 3. I have not logged in since.. I logged in I click View posts since last visit I see 317 treads..... every thread post or posted ed 2 since my last visit.

when i log on dh. I click view new topics I get whats been posted 2 in the last what mabe 12 hours it resets at a couple times a day.... what if it been 24 or 36 hours? i'm left opending each section 2 see whats recently dated... or am i missing something? Bah mabe i'm just confused.

no the view new posts (mid/top right of main forum page) is exactly what you say you want, it doesnt reset by itself once or twice a day. it holds ALL new posts since your last visit. anything new in the time you last logged in will be available via this link.
