siggy madness
I been seeing all kinda of siggy that breaks the rules... i'm been reporting some thats were beyond huge... now not only am i seeing those, i'm seeing square images has the rules changed or something?

some examples of what i'm talking about now i'm not meaning to pick on anyone i took screen shots of. I'm just using them as examples of what i'm taking about and yet i still see larger than what i took shots of here left and right and it just seems to be getting ignored by mods/admins. since they posted after the person that had the oversize siggy... and you know they must of noticed..... (i not meaning to step on anyone's toes here) but the siggys are become all shapes and sizes... not only does it look odd... I maybe just need a clarification of the rules as if this is allowable i will use these kinda sizes

Ex.#1 319 x 141


Ex.#2 300x 150


Ex.#3 287x157


Ex.#4 285 x 114



this is a different thing i'm seeing alot of, too. people using their max images size and max text together and i read it above it's 100 k and 5 lines of text well he's using 8...




I see this as a problem that's not a big deal now but if you let a few do it, you need to let us all, cause you'll end up with everybody doing it... so it should get nipped in the butt, before it becomes a major issue...

Its not allowable. those members will be contacted . as you can imagine neon its pretty hard to keep tabs on all the sigs on this site.

I've Mentioned to jjmd a few times... he has shrunk it down every time... bit it's just a tad bit to large..... I have to give him a little credit for shrinking it.... but still now within the allowable sizes.... i thought i had reported something these... through pm.... maybe they didn't get through....???

Well if you guys see anyone with oversized signatures let them know as well as us, as you are gold members you are well within bounds to inform them of the site rules. its hard for the staff to catch them all, but I appreciate you telling us.

I dont want to sound too strict but once some members have oversized signatures then it will get messy when everyone starts thinking its ok. The whole idea is to let everyone have some freedom to express themselves without ruining the legibility of the forum.

BTW, hows the DH DP2 coming.... it's rather more strict on the image sizes.... and whatnot.... would LOVE to see that up and running as the main forum software soon...

RC 1 should be out in a matter of days. However, there's no way to automatically limit sig image size. It's practically impossible.

but you can limit the avatar sizes?

i guess... without uploading the image to the server.... and the server running it through a quick scan..... there would be no way...... if there is a way... damn... it'd be touch to implement....

maybe a simple... but very stern message could be displayed above or overtop of the signature text box.... (or blending in with the background)... about the RULES... in short form... no?

How could that happened, i mean, when i first put up my sig and after my avatar i was not allowed to put above forum size rules. I got blocked by the forum. Hope i made myself clear...
