I have an quick idea site sugestion.... i wanted to share

there is more room in the area were we have medals (and would it look better to have hat filled with something) ..

#1 is that you have not only gold members but "silver" members like a lesser gold member award....

idea #2 is another larger medal like for donateing over a certain amount to the site...
mabe give the like a 80x100 avatar or something (limited to 100k still)
(mabe in the future disable the adverstiseing for these guys)

#3 make the silver donation medal and or/gold member medal larger/wider/more elabrite

just a passing thought i wanted to share with ya .
( anything I can think of that would could/help the site i try to share with ya far fetched or not)

the site is pretty maxed out space wise in 800x600 mode though.... it only looks as if we have tons of room when your sitting at above 1024x768..... 1920x1440 makes things look like you could stuff a full sized elephant in places....

Actually the site is not maxed out space wise in 800x600.

ITS COMPLETELY OVERLOADED.

I have to scroll about 3/4 of the way down the page just to read the news when Im using MSN9 with the dashboard on medium which is the smallest fully usable setting for it really

Now this is with my screen set to 1024x768 with the dashboard limiting the width to around 8xx

gunther is on a distinguished road

I think the site design isn't exactly planned for 8x6 use, so it looks crowded. On the otherhand, does anyone even use 8x6 for serious browsing with regards to increased content on sites..

with the information we wanted on it, we designed it for 1024x768+ I know its a little irritating for those of you on 800x600 or less but we really cant continue to cater for those resolutions anymore in 2003. upgrade the 15 inch !

It's really hard to do modern sites with a lot of information and options on them, and have them look good at 800x600. Most people really should be using at least 1024x768 at this point. Monitors are cheap, so for anybody still using a 14" or 15", do yourself a favor and upgrade!

What 15"?

Im using a 17" monitor at 1024x768 with MSN9.

The dashboard takes up some of the horizontal screen property for my messenger list as well as stock quotes and weather updates. Things like that.

So basically if I use MSN9 I cannnot use my Dashboard if I wish to view the DH front page?

You can, but obviously the more space you can devote to the page, the better it will look.

I run my Desktop res at 1280x1024x32.

My Browser screen is probably set to about a 1024x1024. That allows me access to most of my Desktop Icons.

The only time this becomes a problem with DH is when a large image is posted on the front page.

Yeah, that's about right

Of course, I have to close down my sidebar and javascript debugger window to view the front page as well

oi lol

well pretty soon it wont be so bad for me

Im hooking up a 19" so I can do 1280x1024 at a decent viewing size :P

edit -

or not *sighs*

It seems that the 19" monitor has a very red hew to the color and it unshielded so guess what happens to my poor 17" monitor thats a few inches away lol
