What's a special member?

I was looking around..bored. And I looked across the legend and I have no idea what is a "special member" is.

I'm guessing it's somebody like "CatalystMAKER"? He's pretty special

...... yeah i was going to ask this ages ago... but i dropped it.... i'm pretty sure i saw catalystMaker highlighted in the same form as "special Member"..... can't be to sure right now though

special members are normally company staff members like Terry Makedon or special guests of the forum, meaning people like ChrisW the creator of radlinker etc.
