Er, Possible Source of Problems?
Neon and i have been kinda working on possible reasons/solutions to get things working... as you know.. he hasn't been able to get on DH at all lately...
Tiro has also been helpful However.. (sorry for lack of Screenshots as i've nowhere to upload it..) Neo told me to try a Ping/Trace route to Driverheaven.net and found out quite quickly something strange... I couldn't ping the server... nor could if even find it.... Here's what one traceroute program said: Quote:

this prob has nothing to do with your cookies file on both of yours cases,
1) auto log out 2) unable to access this site from time to time.. i believe this is about the DNS name lookups of the DNS servers in yours area or maybe route i'm not sure what exectly to call this.. i can give you a test on this Judas (not the cookie test) later on i'll let you know if i can find an addrees.. and this depends on how your connection are.. |

ok.... also... in some cases.. i've done the CMD and tried to ping the server... with the occasional 100% loss of packets.. so i'm wondering if the route to dh the last few days have totally messed up.. and for some reason... while clicking around (posting.. waiting sometimes ages.... and then clicking again resulting in the occasional logout)...... i think i'll oventually do a fresh format and reinstall again if i can't solve this soon

okay check this for me 1st so i know yours connection configs..
go to the "Internet Procol(TCP/IP) Properties.. and tell me what is the option you use it as your setting now.. in there... 1) Obtain DNS server address automatically -Or- 2) Use the following DNS server addresses.. |

#1 Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically.. (btw... i'm not sure how much longer i'll be up.... gotta work soon)... Also another thing that kinda find strange is the fact that i'm even able to get to DH if a Traceroute program can't make it to dh

doesn;t it take time for DNS servers to refresh the paths to websites?
adn then ISPs have to refresh their cache of website paths

Looks fine, I don't think there's a DNS problem.

Run the following command when you're having problems..
you can enter "?" to see all command lines. you can also use "Select all", "Copy" in the CMD window. then Paste the info on a notepad >nslookup > ns3nr.wp.shawcable.net > driverheaven.net > set debug > driverheaven.net Code:

i knew what you was saying Dj_stick, that's why i said yours is valid, but since you put that reply after mine.. with a question mark and i didn't know how to explain.. that's all..
anyway now i think forum softwares could be the caused of the auto log out and then causing indirectly prob with cookies or something.. but for the prob with ppls unable to access this site i wonder that maybe many visitors out there are having this probs too and what's the actual caused.. |

To rule out DNS problem...
http://67.15.42.37/ Use that for driverheaven (this just bypasses the DNS resolving). If you still have problems with that (make sure the address has not changed to www.hardwareheaven.com in the address bar, it shouldn't unless you click a different shortcut or use your favourites) Then something else is up.
