Connection problems
first of read here
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...threadid=43598 But my ip'd keep getting blocked an it's on a firewall level..... so far for eample if my ip is.... 12.202.175.95 12.202.211.139 it will nopt let e acess the dh site... while i can vist sites ip's that are right next to dh's ... and time i try to go here i get a page not found... if i open a ftp program it conncts then stops reponding.... right after it says connected.. normally it'll promt me for pass/user the trace route linked in the thread above shows what it looks like when i'm getting blocked...  here it is not that t'm on a diffrent ip that hasn't been blocked (yet)  so the point of the problem is at: Verio dh's isp /host EDIT: BTW now i'm getting aoto logged out again

So you can use a proxy and get through to the site with the blocked IP?

Please make a note of any IP addresses you have assigned when you CANNOT connect and email them to me at uberlord@driverheaven.net and I'll look into it.

BUT MY ISP KEEPS TRING TO PUT ME ON SOME OF THESE IP'S WHEN EVER I HIT THEM NO DH By the way this what ahppend when I connect to DH via FTP when the problem is occuring Quote:

I might have an issue just maybe possibly related to this, as I have been unable to access this website or Omegacorner(same server I guess) for a couple of days, without using a proxy. I cannot ping this perticular server either. I'm now using some public transparent proxy when I want to come in here. Since it's a weekend perhaps it's just my ISP that has screwed up, so if I'm lucky it may go away automatically on monday. Haven't experienced any similar issue with any other website so far. I know enough to say that it isn't any firewall issue on my side. Will mail my IP to UberLord and Andrew.

THis happened to me about 3 months ago, it turns out it was my ISP blocking site for some stupid reason.

I'm just a wee bit curious if something interesting in regards to this has been found on the server side? I have checked with my ISP and they claim to not be blocking anything, and neither have they ever done so before. I'm sure that if me and TNC's regular IP's cannot connect, then likely quite a few others are being denied as well. Lastly, relying on free proxies as I do now can be a bit of a hassle as most are either slow or unreliable over time. As it has been like this for about a week now it doesn't look like one of those many miscellaneous internet thingies that just happens sometimes.

Yeah I was kindof guessing something like that happening. It doesn't hurt me too much personally as recent hardware failure will keep me away from gaming/drivers topics for a while anyway. So I'm thinking mostly about the possible risk of many others perhaps not getting into this fine site.

if an ISP has enough customers in a NAT mode or something… that would trigger the block wouldn't it?
NAT meaning multiple computers accessing the net on 1 IP…

Also... if the IP changes.... that would mean it isn't completely ISP related probably for safety messure so that there isn't a pile of people getting po'ed.... there would be a need for a maxium number of attempts before banning....

The auto logouts are getting really bad two... instead of two or 3 every couoe days so far i've been logged out about 10 times this hour

Do you guys get a similar logout problem with other forums as well? Last few times I've had consistent logoff problems it has occurred pretty much at all forums at the same time. Clearing cookies AND web browser history followed by a reboot before browsing anything again has helped. I get a feeling that some time&date index for cookies and history has gotten borked at those times.

I kind of figured more out about this it has something to do with the newer build of IE in XP sp2 because if I use mozilla the problem does not occur.
I was using XP SP1a’s IE6 for a while the problem did not occur Sp2 betas (2126, 2120/RC1) IE6 … Problem occurs Sp2 betas (2126, 2120/RC1) mozilla … Everything is fine Early sp2 beta (1213) IE6 / mozilla … Everything is fine XP SP1a……Everything is fine XP original…...Everything is fine This maybe only affecting a few of us now that are using the betas but this could become a very large problem when the official sp2 comes out. What ever it is it’s causes the server’s firewall to block me. It sucks I’m forced to use mozilla or have a massive and frequent problem. IE6’s causing it but it either a problem with IE6 or the server’s firewall either way ones going to have to be fixed. Looks like I have to go back to mozilla again
