not everyone has mIRC - there are plnty of other IM programs available… i used to have mirc but i have no use for it

Personally i liked slapping Roadee upside the head with a trout...... but getting a clean Mirc Program was terrible... the java mirc was good... just very limiting as no commands could be done without something yelling or nothing happening....

we can add it again but I dont honestly see the point - Driverheaven is basically a forum based site. Many tech sites have IRC and 4 or 5 people sit in it all day - the demand isnt there.

of course I might be wrong ......

Agreed people didn't go there. Were a few lerkers but mostly people that set up IRC, loged in but was no were to be found expect on a few occations.... At the peek hours only other wise it was a ghost town.

It's hard to get people to log in and you very well can't force them....

yea how come souch a big fan group doesnt have an irc channel?
i can open a channel in thundercity with no probs just to start with.

we had our own IRC on this server before - if it was going to happen it would happen there. ill think about it again, we had it before and was pretty much wasted - but if the demand is there we can reopen.

ok when craig gets back from his holidays ill get him on it again. he ran IRC on the server. we need to reinstall it, set it up etc. give us a few weeks.

[SIZE=small][COLOR=orange]I've been IRCop on a few networks in my time, and I've got a ton of channel op experience, and wouldn't mind helping out if you need it
I also suggest Irchighway as a network as it is extremely user friendly, and it has a great way of protecting people's nicknames, channels, etc. It has Nickserv, Chanserv, Memoserv, and Botserv (Botserv-if you're interested in running bots). The 'Irchighway' clickable link will open up your default IRC client (mIRC, etc.) and take you right to the server if you're interested.[/SIZE][/COLOR]
