Default Post Driverheaven site, 7th September 2002, member poll

We have made several changes to the board and I would like to hear from members, how it is responding on your specific machine and connection.

There is a poll right now regarding speed, but if you are having any issues which cannot be explained by a simple vote in this poll, please detail them in a post here so we can iron out any other problems you all may be having.

Thank you.

I voted Driverheaven is responding much the same as before, seen as I've never had a problem accessing DH, occasionally loading a thread times out, but refresh clears that up second time rround.

I've seen a marked speed increase.
DriverHeaven loads instantly on my
768k DSL, even with other Bandwidth
consuming applications running in the
background.

Arhhhh I have 1 meg down at home & its responding better than it has been over last couple of weeks, no longer visiting & getting page not found, but board still isn't as responsive as when I joined(probably volume of traffic has increased loads since) I like groovy flash animations but when I connect from work(NT4 machines on a T1) It struggles with the flash 6 animations (probably NT4 just being poo!) Keep up the good work fellas!

Hope you don't mind me saying (i'm quite nosey, can't resist) I have habit of looking at html of sites I like, as only recently I've starting trying to learn HTML properly(lol), Anyway noticed that you use css style sheets, but I see lots of font & colour tags in source which, I myself try, to get in style sheet (when I can be bothered to update style sheet) is there logic I'm missing as to why this is so, and would it help your site speed up a bit

Now this where somebody comes along goes your a total f**kwit this is why its like that

lol

what browser are you using and what are your cookie settings at? try clearing your IE cache (if you use it) including temp files, set cookies to be accepted and restart IE.

well my only suggestion is to try an alternative browser on this site, and if the alternative browser works (like opera or Netscape), then you know for sure its an installation or corruption/setting problem with the original browser. I logged in with your your account on Driverheaven on my side and its working fine.

it might also be an ad blocker or some third party utility you have installed.

After being on tour of the USA (great people i must admit) for the last 2 weeks I finally got home last night. I accessed the site from the St Louis, MO and the response was fine on their cable service..... I now am so happy to have our cable connection back however since I could only move data at 30-40k from St Louis......ahhhhh Canada is so nice....just cold

It's now wonder Nascar is so popular in the USA, the posted speed limit of 65MPH in most area's must have been some type of "CODE" for 85MPH+. It sure mad the return trip a quick one though

And over and above all else UT2003 Demo !!!!!! was waiting for me when i got home......

If you're using newer firewall products such as the latest ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, etc - they have facilities that block cookies. The same is true of many ad-blocking packages, particularly those that act as proxy servers.

If you're blocking cookies for a reason, you'll need to add driverheaven.net to the list of exceptions. Procedures for enabling cookies vary depending on the software you're using.
