We have a lightining fast server (dual xeon, 2 gig of ram, T3 line) and its only limited to your line speed. ive tested the server on many connection speeds and obviously dial up is the slowest, but it will certainly be putting out more than your 3-5k connection can handle. |

Our VB2 install was much slower than this VB3 install, apart from the fact VB3 is tighter code with less calls we had so many hacks and stuff not working on our VB2 it slowed it down quite a bit. In his case on dialup the differences would be quite minute but I can see quite a difference in pages loading. Also remember if you are visiting threads with alot of images posted in them its going to KILL dial up, and this site has ALOT of people posting images. |

This forum is quite bad for dial-up users though, compared to a lot of other forums. I`d love to upgrade my line speed, but where I live, it isn`t possible.
I don`t really blame anyone though (other than my isp), and will just continue browsing with images disabled. |

Try the new midnight heaven theme in your CP. we will be making a low bandwidth theme in the future with basic graphics. its on the list, but of course we cant stop people posting links to imagery

i'm a dial up user, but i found after the forum upgraded all pages (page with pics or without it) on this site load faster than before, loading time for most of the pages are in seconds, not just a second like user who are on fast connections, but i can confirm it is still in seconds, less than a minute, and once everything is in system/browser cache, pages loading time will be aprox 3-10 seconds.
