Can't connect at my School

For some reason I can no longer connect from my school to Driverheaven. I wouldnt think they would block a site, as they do not block pr0n or anything neat like that. It was working well one day then all the sudden WHAM I couldnt. I am losing things to do now in class as i cannot connect lol

yeah, I noticed that as well, I believe they got rid of messenger for the same reason, honestly I think they are blocking the site locally man. it was working one day and then next it didnt. I suppose that it could be somewhere else, but only the local school would be responsible for that. Maybe somebody got banned that worked at the school and it affected all the IP's....no?

here, use this. if schools blocking the site, this should allow you to get past the block. i used it at my school for about 6 months before they finaly figured it out.

You can try proxies to bypass that but they are obviously blocking sites so you would need to speak to a tech there to find out why.

If you email me the schools IP you connect from I can check to see if its blocked from our side.

btw another-user your signature image "death.gif" is well over 300k, 10x the size allowed, please reduce it, this will kill our dial up users.

Also try http://www.proxify.com

If that doesn't work, also try https://www.proxify.com . This one just has a secure connection, but it usually gets past blocks like Bess and things like that.

I also noticed that the anti spyware programs consistently intercept spyware when we connect to DH, avenue A as well, I have cleaned my machine and actually got a legit copy of the entire Norton systems suite, found over 20 kinds of spyware with Spybot, a trojan with Norton Internet security 2005 trial ware. The librarian at the school thinks they block some sites that posed a spyware threat I suppose, I am not sure if that is correct or not but it sure adds credence to my suspicions that the IT folks think that some sites we visit are allowing the rash of toolbars and porn dialers to be loaded onto the machines. Personaly I think it is a tech that is doing it and not the students, even though you can download just about anything at DeVry.

okay, you can install gain on any computer in the school... not much blocking

also librarians dont really know much there as they do not interact w/ IT as much as you would want to believe they are just students working for the school

It sure is frustrating man, but I run spyblaster or spybot everyday man, I cant wait to get behind a router again, Kinkos and DeVry have huge pipes to connect to, but nothing but porn and adware come through while your trying to do research, I found several key loggers on one machine and a virus, IT needs to re image the drives man.
