this was posted a couple of days ago http://www.hardwareheaven.com/thread.php?id=5868 and still no word yet as to what the problem is.... one brief comment by one mod and we're all left hanging... surely it can't be that hard to fix.... please don't tell me my favorite heavenly place is falling apart
![]() I realize it has only been a couple days but still, at least blow some smoke our way or something to make us think someone is at least working on the problem

Well I actually though Cyborg had fixed this issue to be honest but obviously not. but as he posted in another thread he is moving house and probably hasnt had the time to look at his script.
If you guys PM me or email me with these issues I can maybe attempt to sort them out myself, I dont always see every thread on the forum and I tend as a rule to let Cyborg or Omega handle the driver postings which is probably why I missed this recent one. and ALSO Believe it or not, people sometimes have a life outside of DH !This problem is due to some new routines Shaith has incorporated along with security fixes so Driverheaven isnt constantly down, like the recent DOS attacks etc. To say the site is falling apart is a little unfair and unjustified. Alot of us work long hours and dont get the time we would like to fix every little issue. nevertheless, tell me which sets you ALL need in this thread and ill attempt to get you direct links (which I have done before for others) so you can get them, I dont like going into Cyborgs driver subsite section and altering code without talking to him first |

Heya Z! how you been? missed you lately....
And that "falling apart" remark was in no way aimed at you or any one particular person. It just seems a lot of enthusiasm and/or excitement has gone out of the place... Now that obviously does not mean the place is "falling apart" just simply maybe not what it used to be... For example, this latest set of ATI driver leaks, just seemed like no one wanted to contribute to hosting them or getting the files out like they did at one time. Now this problem again with getting even older files that were once available here and no one seems to want to step up to the plate and help out or solve the problem. I realize you've got enough on your plate without having to receive email about each particual problem that occurs. And again, it's not an attack on the leadership more of an observation against the community.... Come on people!! Let's make this place what it once was!!!

well im not entirely sure I would agree with the excitment going out of DH, I think alot of the hits lately are in the off topic section (gaming and tech) ! I have had quite a few laughs in there myself lately.
I think alot of this is in fact due to several things: XP SP has been released so the vast majority of people who came in for that (and apparently nothing else) have now gone. (hey im always honest !) With regards to the ATI driver situation, I feel maybe that the drivers are so good now (well a hell of a lot better than a while ago) and we dont have the old issues of the HPB (holy polygon bug), most people arent getting as excited about them as before. Alot of devoted ATI users will post on ATI dedicated forums like rage3d in detail. Dont forget that ATI are also officially releasing betas now, so the excitment has obviously gone to a certain extent as no one is leaking them anymore ! As a side note : If anyone needs a driver and cant get it, ill get it on DH server if you CANT, just email me or Shaith. We did get the new offical beta cats hosted on DH and both myself and Shaith posted links from our T3 server for both 8500 and 9700 sets as soon as we got them ourselves!!! (in the news section days ago!) so for those having problems getting them from ATis site which was extremely slow when they released them initially, I hope it helped. (we are here to help everyone get drivers and offer support for them, thats the primary function of this site (well one anyway)) Hope you are well shuki, and give my regards to the family

The issue causing the download failures is now fixed. If you continue to experience problems, you need to check your firewall and Internet Explorer security settings, making sure that you're allowing the referrer information to be passed properly.
In the future, if you're having problems with DH itself, such as being denied downloads, etc, PM me rather than putting a message in a forum. You may find it's much faster, as I too have a life outside of DH and don't always get to read every thread. |
