Default Post Missing Images

Everytime I load the main forum, I either can't see the -off image or the on one, happens probably 75% of the time when I load the page. I ussually just right click>show picture and it pops right up so it doesn't really bother me, just thought you might want to know. It happens to me @work and @home, which is the only reason I mentioned it.

well thats an interesting problem and one ive never heard anyone else mention, but we have been having some forum issues lately. If Shaith wishes to give a possible answer to that one perhaps he will. I really dont have any possible reasons why it would be happening on that specific graphic. are you running win XP and IE6? first thing would be to try clearing your cache or a forced control refresh. then you could set your IE to refresh every visit to the page. (as long as you arent on dialup).

I would also like to say that I cant really speak much about it atm but we are going to be having some quite considerable changes soon on Driverheaven, which, will make sure the forum runs smoother and the bug list should drop quite considerably.

I really dont wish to comment about the forum changes just at the moment until nearer the time, but it will be in the very near future, and will be beneficial to everyone.

It's odd, but I have the exact same image problem, and I'm running a Radeon 8500 - yet my wife's computer never has that problem and she's running an Nvidia.

What video card are you running? If it's an ATi card, it might be something to forward to the guys at ATi.

It's an IE6sp1 bug apparently (Or so I read somewhere on the net) and only happens when you install WinXP-SP1 over a previously installed copy of WinXP.
I installed a slipstreamed copy of WinXP-SP1 inside a virtual machine and the bug it's not there.

I have the same problem and it happens on several different sites. Not a DH specific problem.
Will do some researches, hopefully someone found out a solution already.

Nope, not limited to SP1 installed over the top etc - I'm on a clean install of XP and IE and SP1 and it does it to me all the time on sites (including DH) - it's annoying too.

Ok I started having the problem with other sites, not just driverheaven, shortly after I posted. I'm not sure what was causing it, I emtpied cache's and all that jazz but to no avail.
Well anyway I did a re-install two days ago, and now it seems to not be a problem. I did the re-install after a little too much oc'ing corrupted some system files, luckily I did a repair and backed up all the data first. But after that format, re-install with SP1 slipstreamed. No problems YET. We'll see...
Oh yeah and I am also running an 8500, but now I'm on the 6200's and that might have something to do with it. And I recently started using Avantbrowser, so perhaps that has something to do with it, although it's really just IE6SP1.

I'm having to hit the Refresh button on nearly every page if I want to see the icon indicators in the left column. There are other icons/images not loading during the initial loading of each page, too.

could it be to do with the amount of people trying to get a file at the size time? like if 50 users all are trying to download the same file? i get at least one image, usually the PM buttons or avatars not loading the first time round?

Your .sig is hosted off site - nothing we can do about that

I didn't know there was a way to host it on-site.

Logla has a spectacular aura aboutLogla has a spectacular aura aboutLogla has a spectacular aura about

I used to think this problem only happened to me. It only ever started happening though when I OC'd my CPU to 3GHz or above. So I assumed that it would not be a good idea to start going that high, backed off and rebuild windows. For the most part, that worked. Then it started happening all the time mainly on DH. I contacted my ISP as I was having problems with the sig images of one or two other members and they told me to enter their proxy server into IE. I did this and all is now ok.(for the meantime)
