everything is so...little

Is it just me or is this format slightly straining on the eyeballs? Maybe if the text were a "little" bit bigger...otherwise, looks cool. I like blue. (btw, my text size in IE is medium).

I was just going to raise the same point .... 1024x768 LCD here, so not at it's best with any other resolution.

I might try looking with Mozilla - as that does NOT tend to honour fixed size fonts (that is, they scale, unlike in Internet Explorer, where point sizes are fixed)

Otherwise, not bad, and yes, I noticed the email notification too!

Overrall, a smoother transition than could be expected - some other forums lefet you panicing to sign up again!

I agree, the Font is too small and hard to read!

while I understand your points on certain setups, the default scheme will remain the way it is.

I have mentioned before that we will have other schemes in the future and we will make sure one of these has larger base fonts.

And yes, Mozilla 1.1 DOES allow the font size to be varied, using CONTROL-Mousewheel or View TextZoom.

Rightly or wrongly, it does not consider Pixel-sized fonts to be fixed size, but makes them scaleable.

I have to recommend a visit to www.diveintoaccessibility.org - for a discourse on many design evils including fixed size!

fixed size was intentional, and personally although its classed as evil, I like it, we get the site looking the way it was intended

i actually like it... the text on my home computer before the change to vbulletin was far too large. this is much better

(oh, and 1600x1200 on 19" monitor here at work, and the current size is more than readable.)

Hmm, Ryoko must have a giant magnifying glass on his monitor at work. Even at 800x600 the text is still a wee bit straining. I mean, my monitor is a .24 AG pitch trinitron, and I have good eyes...I can't see how this format isn't at least a *little* straining.

I dont know, i am looking at it on my 15" LCD, @ 1024x768, looks great to me, also looks great at 1152x864 on my 17" .24 LG 795FT, I guess I am not you guys, but it looks great here. (The next styles will be different, and you may like them better)

Well, it's just some of the stuff is as small as 8 pixels...which is small. The text that I'm typing right now, according to Paint Shop, is 12 pixels, which is good for viewing. But the "close current tag" some of the left panel's tips (see forum rules (below) for more info...blah blah) are only 8px, which...when viewing all sorts of text on the screen, strains after a while.

So I'm assinine fart, sue me!

Can't wait to see the new styles...maybe a classic look would be cool?

Well none of the 8px stuff if mine, thats default vB. I try not to go lower than 10px for anything, while keeping main text 12-14px.

Also: The reason i used fixed sizing, is because Mozilla and IE treat CSS Relative sizes differently.

The truly frightening code for cross-browser relative fonts (where possible) is on the page mentioned - what price standards??
