Sad My Settings were changed without my Input

I can't say that I'm happy about it, but I'm hoping no harm's been done.

Suddenly, my email box began to be filled with DriverHeaven notices of responses to my posts.

I have NEVER opted to receive email notification for these.

I reviewed my Preferences and found that my email addy was also being broadcast....again without my input.

Hopefully, when you do updates next time these things will remain as they've been for the users rather than changing to soemone else's choice of defaults.

Kelsenellenelvian is on a distinguished road

It's been e-mailing me also and my preference was not to. Also a couple of minor things were different in my profile I just chalked it up to the different proggys, there is always a couple of bugs to work out when you just copy information over.

Its worth noting that this forum change was not a minor overhaul we COMPLETELY changed the forum software powering the site, it is a testiment to the smoothness of the changeover and the hard work of the administration staff that people seem to think we just "altered settings".

We did this changeover for many reasons, to benefit everyone with speed, functionality and to ensure your enjoyment of the site is maximised.

It should be quite obvious to immediately go into profile settings to ensure your settings remain to your liking, we cant be expected to manually configure 10,000+ user accounts to everyones previous settings on another software format.

I would say that my main concern was that my email address preference had been changed to show it, rather than hide it. From my own standpoint, I think it would have been better to have defaulted it to not show and let those who wish it to be shown to change it.

No harm done, however. I was able to catch it pretty fast.

The rest of the changes are very nice.

you may think it is better for the software to default to not showing your email account and perhaps in many cases this is true, unfortunately that is the way Vbulletin is set for default.
