My Ip Address Is Banned - Can This Be Resolved

Gents, Please assist..

This is the second thread regarding this issue. When I log on from home I get the msg YOUR IP IS BANNED. When I log on from WORK (This is were I am typing this msg now) it's fine.

Why is this occurring, When
1. I am a new user
2. I have not flamed or even managed to participate in any forums as yet due to the issue.
3. The last thread was left in limbo.
4. I have been overseas and was not able to pursue the issue until my return (a few days ago).
5. I am keen on using the forums and this site.
6. I am not the only user that has the same problem, (why haven't you heard about them, it's because they can't get past the BANNED MSG).

Can either the admins or web host look into this more carefully as it is not only affect me but every one how uses the same service provider here in Australia.

I can provide my IP address to the Admins on requests. My IP address also changes every few days by my service provider which make it's more difficult.

AGAIN I AM AT WORK NOW AND THE IP ADDRESS LOGGED IS FROM WORK, THE PROBLEM IS WHEN I TRY TO LOG ON FROM HOME, I GET THE MSG YOUR IP ADDRESS IS BANNED.

Can or will this be resolved in the near future. I can be email for further discussions on this issue.

I think its best Shaith, the server admin answers this one.

did you post this before??? like a month ago?

Hey Zardon,

Yes I had posted this 2 months ago before I went on holidays, but I tried to log on from home again and it still comes up with the msg YOUR IP ADDRESS IS BANNED.

Can you pass this onto Shaith as I am not always in the office at work.

Also if you could send questions to my email address, due to me not being able to log on at times.

Fingers crossed. I can log on from home aroung 20:00 AUD EST.

Let me know via email if you need me to do some tests, otherwise I will not be able to check the threads until I return to work.

without having the ip address range you're referring to (your home login) there's little I can do for you. Get me this information and I'll look into it.

It's likely that it's ur IP range that's banned, i.e. someone with ur ISP that has been banned and is causing you to be blocked as well.

OK, I'll provide my IP address tommorrow as, like I said I cannot access this site from home, and as you know I am now at work

I'll look into the way vB accesses your IP address, it may be accessing the ISP's IP, if so, i will change it to use the better way of getting IP with PHP.

Well, looks like it's working now, thanks heaps.

What was the issue.

Will this keep working when my ISP changes my IP address in a few days ?

we altered a setting, it will work.

Excellent ! I can now breeze through yor forums and also let some friends know that we @ Optusnet can check out the forum now without that annoying page of being bannned
