Why Do Parody/Black Humor Threads Get Closed ?

I thought this was Beyond Thunderdome. Anything goes. Tasteless jokes, trolling, laying bait and whatever else you can think of to draw out those with low IQ's, no sense of humor, no way of interpreting humor from reality etc. It seems that the moderators actually legislate to the lowest common denominator. If one person doesn't get it and may misunderstand the concept, then it is considered dangerous for all. I won't list the exact thread title, because I'll probably get deleted (seems weird for the "flamezone", I know), but will threads of this nature get automatically closed:

Should There Be Ultimate Fighting For Toddlers ?

Should Toddlers Fly Helicopters ?

Can We Eat Toddlers If We Don't Like Them ?

If you post threads like this, people will get seriously upset and think that they are real. That's how retarded the population here seems to be. I posted a similar thread that got closed and was basically slapped on the paw for posting something so "inappropriate". The thread was an obvious joke, but I actually got responses that someone should call law enforcement, I should be turned in to the FBI etc. Is the flamezone actually just a ton of nerds who can't understand the various facets of humor ? The answer to all of the above is obviously "no", but for someone to ask the question is actually funny. Some people just don't understand it. It's sad that censorship even exists in places that claim it doesn't. Lame.

I thought I had found somewhere cool, but alas...wrong again.

Go read the rules for the forum (flamezone). That's why it exists. So that topics of this nature (jokes, trollbait) don't clutter up other areas of DH. So, you're statement is completely incorrect.

The thread was an obvious joke and you still don't seem to get it. It's an absurd assertion, just like the examples above.

You seem to be forgetting a couple things, Cyclops: 1) it was just the one thread he closed, and 2) even Thunderdome had rules, and so does the FWZ. If you read the rules page for the FWZ you would have noticed the "AND the rest of the Forum Rules still apply" paragraph. As Zardon said in the thread he closed he felt it was a borderline breach of those rules, and that's why he closed it. You gotta remember: if you play in the FWZ you have 2 sets of rules to abide by, not just 1.

BTW, if you have a problem with the way things were handled, courtesy dictates that you should be takening it up with him (Zardon) privately, and not start a thread about it.
