FLATOUT2 IS GONNA HAVE sTARfORCE PROTECTION!!!!

I think the only game with Starforce protection I've played is Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. I didn't have a problem with that (actually just finishing it up, so I haven't had a problem yet)

Though what I do with every game I have is I extract it to my comp as a mountable image with Daemon and play it that way. I cannot stand it when drives spin. It's just really loud

I aggree i hate Starforce, i have to wait 5 mins for GTR to load, it's just a nusience and you have the risk of it crapping up your pc. But blaming the companys that use it is a bit too harsh. Think about it, companies loose money and profit to people not buying their games and using a warez version free of charge. What can they do! If i was an owner of a company i'd get some protection to stop this. O.K i admit i wouldn't get Starforce but at least they are trying to rid the internet of warez. It may be annoying and dangerous but at the end of the day it works like Erroneus says (btw i'm not having a pop at you Erroneus for repeatidly using your posts as quotes it's just you make points that fit into my argument

Basically all i'm saying that that you shouldn't be so hard on the game company (think it's Empire Interactive) and the game itself. I aggree with you all that Starforce is a horrible creation and i will help with everone to burn it down

but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying the game.

If you still choose not to get the game then that's fine with me we all have our opinions and maybe your pc is prone with Starforce BSODing or messing up your drives i understand that too. But trust me you don't know what your missing because Flatout 2 imo is a brilliant game!

it can ruin things on ur computer... so ur knowingly putting ur pc at danger, because its so sad for the producers if we dont buy the game and dont want to put our pc at stake?

and there are more cd protection software on the market then just starforce. Securom... and the companies know what starforce can do.. Ubisoft hasnt withdrawn itself from starforce protection for nothing...

I personally never had problems with games using starforce

Of course that does not mean that i like it....
I am against useless Anti-piracy protection sollutions that do not really stop the piracy and cr4cks...only breaking the peoples nerves and waste space and time

I do belive game companies using starforce should be punished and boycotted. There are other great copy protections out there, like securom or tages, whick doesn't ruin your OS and optical drives.

If game companies want to include malware in their games, well they aint seeing me as a buyer.

if you have a nforce 4 chipset motherboard. you can play starforce games very easy without any drive disconnection or unplug of the power leads to you optical drives.

there will be a crack out soon anyway, so just wait.
when the crack is released just google sforce remover then copy over the exe file with the cracked file and prestor no starforce and cracked game. lol

ahhhh that's probably why Starforce has never messed up on my current pc as i have a nforce4 chipset!!

if you've seen my thread in the hardware forum you'll see that i'm having to use my old pc while my current one is being fixed and i haven't been able to play Flatout 2 on my pc yet due to bloody Starforce!!!

it either restarts or it tells me that i have a copy in and to insert the proper disk when i have that disk already inserted. Bloody heck if Starforce is this bad than yes maybe the companies should burn to hell thinking about it as i can't play Flatout 2 due to this Shitforce!!!

I've heard rumors that the American version of FO2 will use Securom.

The dude seemed pretty sure of himself.....

I REALLY hope so....I've had StarForce kill 2 of my writer drives. One was fixed by a firmware update, but the other just got slower and slower until it wouldn't read disks anymore. Both drives were less than a year old and weren't heavily used. The drives started to act flaky within one month after the first SF game was installed. Never again will I knowingly install that "protection" in any of my systems.

i have so many bad experiences with SF games, my dvd burner began to brick. At first i thought the problem came from something else until uninstalled Soldiers and cleaned Starforce from my computer. now my dvd burner only recognizes 2x as max burn speed for dvds instead of 8x.

or not *admires his DVD Burner that blue screened everytime a disc was inserted after uninstalling Chaos THeory...then, after 3 flashes, it simply says "no disk in drive"*

mind u, i cant for sure say SF did it...but it happened the reboot after unisntalling it

thats one reason i havent wanted to try flashing my drive a slower drive is better than no drive. i had the same scenario i uninstalled soldiers and now my drive cant recognize anything above 2x

I have a crack that works on flatout 2. It's on this page REMOVED

Then you mus have the one 15.5 mb (sf4 crack)
(Flat Out 2 Crack [Starforce4] Multi5 - Por Matias21). I played the game.

when you have downloaded the file, you must give it the name flatout22 (i did), and put the file in the dir -> game (now you have 2 exe files). You can play the game!!! trust me, it works!
