I just found out. I AM SO FUCKING PISSED BECAUSE OF THAT! It was a sure thing to buy, but now, when i know it has starforce, i aint gonna buy it. Even when i get it for free. I just hate when i need to hold disk in my drive all the time and sf is gonna crash and make my DVD writer bugged as cheese. FUCK, they had to ruin another good game

it doesn't matter where you get the games from. it's the software that has been embedded into the disk that matters. that software is embedded when the disk is created, where ever that may be at.

The few who don't by the games because of starforce will not even compare to everyone else who does not even know what starforce is. Its like boycotting and game, it doesn't work. The only thing that may work is complaining to the publishers and developers, and also making petitions.

The point is: .. any company that uses Starforce copy protection is shooting themselves in the foot. Savy PC users will NOT buy games with a copy protection that has the potential to damage their rigs. I know I won't. If they want to sell the most games.. they should do what UbiSoft did and DROP Starforce.

Well SF can be removed, but then the game stops working, so you need a crack where SF has been removed from the game, but not every game gets a proper working crack and it blows that you have to use such methods

And when you remove it, at least with my system, I dunno it completes messes up with my Audigy 2 drivers and I get popping and cracking. Took me forever to find out it was after I removed starforce!

I will never understand why publishers use Starcrap on value priced games. It’s like the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 I bought; its only $20 and they feel the need to put starcrap on it. It’s just hard for me to understand their logic sometimes

So it's gonna be Starforced is it? Oh well, I WAS very much anticpating this game. I was going to buy it immediately upon release (and I do mean BUY), but now I'm not even gonna bother with it.

Starforce sucks, it's an infestation in my PC that I don't need. I will not knowingly infect my PC's with it.

I either find an "alternative" means of acquiring this game (StarCrap removed), or it will never get played by me.

I REALLY wanted this game too.

They screwed (many of) us out of a great game by using StarForce.

i don't see why you are now all turning around and saying that your not going to get flatout 2 anymore. Especially considering the amount of times i've seen someone saying how much they liked flatout 1.

I know the annoyances of Starforce Protection (also i'd like to make it clear that i hate Starforce

), i own 2 games (GTR and Flatout 2) which have Starforce Protection. I've never had a BSOD or anything like that happen to me before but i know what can happen and i know that it can wreck some CD\DVD drives. Also i know how annoying it can be e.g. GTR takes approx 5 mins for Starforce to check the disc and that can be annoying especially when i want to just play the game. But i think it's a bit drastic that you're all turning around saying "i was going to buy the game but now i'm not". TBH you have to look at it from the software company's point of view.

You shouldn't really punish the companys for using the software. Basically all i'm saying that that you shouldn't be so hard on the game company (think it's Empire Interactive) and the game itself. I aggree with you all that Starforce is a horrible creation and i will help with everone to burn it down

but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying the game.

If you still choose not to get the game then that's fine with me we all have our opinions and maybe your pc is prone with Starforce BSODing or messing up your drives i understand that too. But trust me you don't know what your missing because Flatout 2 imo is a brilliant game!
