No problems with their NIC's. No real problems with their CPU's. Hey, and I'm an AMD fan :-)

i used to have a p-mmx 233 @262.5 (75x3.5) with no cooling fan that never locked up or had any instability at all... with my current athlon 1ghz @933mhz, i have lockups when using cpu-stressing games all the time. i have to clock it down to 866...

pffft

My HSF on my AMD athlon is quieter than the stock HSF on my mobo's northbridge.

If you don't know how to configure or adequately cool an Athlon, you're a dumbshit -- end of story.

here's the thing - it was working fine for a year. i even defaulted my video card to keep it at 1000 but that only worked for a month. it started overheating in may.

i even stuck my bro's volcano 7 on it and it still was freezing and locking up at 58c...

Or the "thermal instability" point can sometimes be lower then 80C or whatever bullshit they throw forth.

well, i found the problem. i took the cpu and heatsink off to see if the ASII had thinned too much and noticed that my heatsink was just full of dust. the cpu fan was running @ 4900rpm (4500 stock), and after i cleaned it, it was running at 4300rpm, signifying MUCH more airflow. my processor is shivering at a cool 41c, clocked at 1133mhz

Hmm more proof for my 90% percent of computer error is infact user error theory

No, they are also keeping Rambus alive. (don't misinterpret this... i'm sure they have many good qualities)

Like it or not the RAM world has to have competition too. AMD vs. INTEL and DDR vs. RDRAM. If it weren't for RDRAM we all would be sitting on our intel PIII's with SDRAM , right??
