AOHell execs should have their asses reamed out with a 32 grit sandpaper dildo with no vaseline. Their frickin' shiattware replaces Windows system files with their own version, craps all over the dialup & network protocols, and too many other nasty surprises to list them all. What kind of illiterate, braindead azzwipe would pay $21.95 a month (more than a regular ISP that offers unilimited access for less than $14.00) and multiple email addys for free? Their frickin' homo pedophile commercials must have invented by a bunch of advertising reject whores. "It's like a family"...yeah a family of morons that were all raped by the same dad. I use the AOL discs in my microwave. They make a nice fireworks display. CUM to the exclusive AOHell chatrooms where you can talk to a 500 lb man posing as a lesbian to troll for other pedophiles with the same twisted desires that you have. Our proprietary popups help your computer run faster and better..."it's just so easy...NO AOHell sheep you are easy...TOOOOOO easy...to bend over like that without even questioning as you blindly follow all the other stupid sheep right off the same cliff.

In summation...FÂ*uck AOHell...thank you and have a nice day.

I have only had one experience with AOL and it was a pretty bad one.

I was in Arizona, visiting, with a borrowed laptop and a lot of free time. My g/f doesn't have a PC (yet!), much less an Internet connection, so I decided to use one of those "Nine Million Hours for Free" CDs.

I installed it, signed up, all that, and ran with it.

Well, the service was pretty atrocious, and I got kicked off at least twice every one or two hours. But, hey, it was free.

So, anyway, the time to leave arrives, and I call to cancel. I hate having to talk to real people on the phone; it makes me nervous. The phone call went like this:

[DUDE] Hello, AOL accounting.
[ME] Hi, uh, I'd like to cancel my account.
[DUDE] Okay, name...
[ME] Kenenth Hughes.. etc., etc.
[DUDE] Hey, I see your state is "AP" -- is that a military address?
[ME] Well, yeah, kinda.
[DUDE] Huh. I always wanted one of those "kinda"-military jobs.
[ME] Yeah.
[DUDE] So, may I ask why you're cancelling your account?
[ME] Well, to be honest, I was only in town for a few days, and--
[DUDE] Oh, I see. Useful CDs, aren't they?
[ME] Mm-hmm..

*typetypetype*

[DUDE] Well, okay, you're cancelled. May I reccomend, though, that you sign up for the roaming service we have? If you move around a lot, you can check your AOL email address from anywhere in the world..
[ME] Nah, I'm good, thanks.
[DUDE] Mmmmkay, well, guess what, just for trying out AOL, I am authorized to offer you a free gift of $50, redeemable at many AOL online stores. Let me transfer you--
[ME] Er--
[CRAZY DUDE] Hellosir, howyoudoin'? I am prepared to offer you $50, for use atanyoneof ourAOL.comshoppingsites. Itisworth$50,redeemabletowards PhillipsSonyVaiosCompaqsGodivaNikeCocaColaBanannaR epublicandothervariousotherelectronicconsumercommo dityeconomiceducationalandotherfinegoodscallnow.
[ME] Um.. that was a lot to digest. Can I decline?
[CRAZY DUDE] Decline? Sir, this is $50.
[ME] Yeah, I realize that... I'm fine, though.
[CRAZY DUDE] Well, what about $100!
[ME] No, really, I'm good, thanks.
[CRAZY DUDE] Alright.

Weird.

The problem with that is if AOL dies so does Time Warner. Time Warner is currently handling a large volume of broadband subscribers here in the US. I don't want to go back to paying $125.00 a month for a 1.5 meg connection. However, I bet if the Time Warner side did come up for sale Sprint/Earthlink probably would buy it.

I do use AOL, matter of fact I'm beta testing version 8. The only thing I use it for really is email, and to send large files. I think I keep it just so I can be up to speed on it because many people that I know and help use it. Not to mention someone has to be on that knows what their doing to keep them in check. If AOL would make a multiple window GUI, and stop using that one cast iron interface people wouldn't leave it so quickly. Not to mention speed. Try running a bandwidth test sometime inside AOL, and then outside. You will see what I mean.

BTW, I dislike AOL too, but I've been on since what 1992? Before that I was a sysop on local bullletin boards. Never had to pay the hourly charge though, that was what AOHELL was for. Browse the service in free area's. Ahhh memories!!

ha! closet AOL user?

Anyway, anything AOL is just...dumb, it's a floundering company that is only used by major morons to do their porn surfing. I see no need to have old topics about crappy aol rants revived from the depths of "non-interesting" hell.

AOL creates a fake little world for n00bs to hang out in. They think that's what the "web" is all about. But instead, they are in an AOL controlled environment in which AOL can do whatever it pleases. They can control what you see and even monitor their activities. It's their program so they can do anything they want to the people using it. It's kinda what M$ is trying to do with Windows.

I found AOL cds make good dog toys.

Oh, and just in-case you guys didn't know. If you call AOL and tell them to take you off their mailing list, (make sure you have a witness on the same line!) and they send you another CD, you can sue for unwanted soliciting.
