![]() Gotta love it ![]() ![]() Madpuppy gets his ass handed to him and now he has nothing left other than little boy 'Fag insults'. Methinks Madpuppy has spent too much time out in that AZ sun without having a hat on, and it's fried his brain. Like I said in another post, or on another forum...99.9% of the problems with VISTA are PEBCAK errors!

Ill just assume that people have the right to use what OS they want to. Just as people have the right to buy which video game console they want, despite debates over the ps3 and xbox 360. If one prefers an OS over another OS, theres no need to argue about it, keep it to yourself. Use your computer and play world of warcraft while sitting naked on your chair. Nobody else cares what OS you use. Opinions are opinions, and honestly, look at each other..do you see anybody here changing their heavily armed opinions? I dont.. because for one, everyone here has their nose held too high, and obviously loves to argue.

everyone intitled to thier own os preference... but making rediculious accusations that are beyond false specific to the os being at fault.... is another matter at hand.. specially if your "providing" assistance for another user to make a dicission on it....

use what os you want, if MS or any other corp pushed vista on uncapable hardware, XP disks should be made available from retail outlet for free or by mail for free. wake the fuck up, do what you do, the world is not black and white, dont choose yes or no, just choose life!

you know I should take a photo of my P5B Deluxe board box. It has a sticker that says "Vista Premium Ready". If my system sucked goat balls after installing Home Premium or higher, I would try and sue. If it said Vista Ready, not the edition I wouldn't care. The only thing I have against Vista is Vista Home Basic, they should just get rid of it later when prices do drop to make Vista Home Premium cheaper. Just turn off Aero, thats what really kills the system.

I really can't say macs are well designed, it only works well because its regulated. Microsoft windows is for Dell, HP, eMachine, our crazy VoodooPC, Alienware, custom built and some god forsaken chinese manufacturers. Mac OS is for Apple iMac, Powermac, Macbook, Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, Macbook Air and their predecessors. Basically my point is, the software manufacturer is the manufacturer of the hardware as well. If Microsoft stopped all third party manufacturers, said ok guys only we will make it and make sure it works damn well, they would be in heaven. Nowadays with Mac opening a lot more, it is better but there are more reported security holes and issues.
Vista is very user friendly I find, I actually find he problems utility to work, fixed a minor Gears of War issue by installing a patch, or tells me if my driver crashed. XP didn't do that. On top of that, little additions just to tell you the transfer rate of files in explorer is a good addition. But anyways, we should archive this thread. I gurantee you when windows 7 comes out people will be bitching about it as well. I can't gurantee that they stop complaining about Vista, but it happens and just got to accept it. You can't be fucking god and make everyone happy, that's what you call a slappy happy faggoteer. |

It's not WINDOWS...it's just the fact that new technology will always 'break' SOME old technology. Some of you other folks can bitch all you want, but I've been around computers since before a number of you were born, and it's always been that way, and it will always be that way. To hear some of you guys talk, we should have never left DOS and 640K of memory because that WORKED. Christ on a crutch...I'm about to retire and start drawing Social Security. If I can keep up with the current tech, why the hell can't you 'kids' that grew up with it do the same?

![]() If we didn't advance our hardware, we wouldn't have stuff like 8800s and 3870s ect. and games would still be 8-bit ![]() If you can't keep up with the times it's your own fault, PCI-E, DDR2, ect. are standard now and are even cheaper than the old AGP + DDR400 boards. |

A successful upgrade from Vista to XP
Quote:
For surfing the net and playing games Vista may be able to do it, but my shiny new Toshiba P200-RT9 running Ultimate has given me grief for weeks. The video drivers crash several times a day, followed by the blue screen of death. The external HDMI drivers won't go over 1280x1024 (Toshiba sez "please wait". WTF?). The OS freezes trying to create a PDF. Getting AutoCAD to run was a PITA. Some of the specialized audio testing apps I have don't work. I had to use a non-MS-approved patch on the server (2003) to get the laptop to see and join the domain - something you would never do in an enterprise environment - and I will not shell out the $$ for Server 2007 and a new server to run it. Getting it to sync with my WM6 cell phone is a hit-and-miss thing (although the phone's mail/contacts/calendar sync with the server just fine). So you are saying this is good enough? I should just lump it and wait for MS to roll out Vista SP2? Not likely. I would never have bought this thing but Toshiba gave it to me after my old P100 (w/XP) was in the shop for almost a year. I've been in IT for 23 years, and I won't use betaware when I need to get work done. And Vista is Very Beta. I finally built myself a WinXP install disk with SATA drivers, installed XP, and I'm outta here! I did a dual boot so I can still fire up Vista for something to kick around on a dull day. The XP video drivers are stable, I can put the external HDMI up to 2048 by 1536, and all of my software just works. Imagine that - a successful upgrade from Vista to XP. So you carry the torch for Bill. Myself, I think I'll wait and see if MS learns anything from *their* "Vista Experience" when developing their next OS. |

For someone that has 'supposedly' been in IT for 23 years, you sure do sound like a dumb ass. What have you been for 23 years? An Operator??? Damned sure not anything higher.
The problems you are haveing aren't VISTAs problems, they are comming from TOSHIBA, and and any decent IT Professioal would know that. And don't try throwing your '23 years of experience' around like it means something. I'll see your pathetic 23 years with 37 of my own! That's right dickwad, I started in 1968 programming assembler language on IB 360's. Fucking noobie!

"Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has admitted that Windows Vista is an incomplete product, even though the operating system has been on the market for more than a year. Speaking at the firm's annual Most Valuable Professionals event in Seattle yesterday, Big Steve told the gathered crowd that the unloved OS was "a work in progress". According to reports, he also promised that Microsoft would learn from the mistakes it has made with Vista." full text The MS IT dept must have gotten around to installing Vista on Big Steve's computer and he got the 'Vista Experience' himself. Just when you think there isn't justice in this world! So my problem was beta video drivers (ATI) running on a beta OS (MS). Toshiba (and others) just package it together. Generally, I'm happy with MS - phone, workstations, servers, office suite. And I agree that IT experience isn't what it used to be - I find that building exchange servers and active directry networks is really a follow-these-steps kinda routine and not the finesse kinda work like getting AutoCAD to run smoothly in one meg of RAM. So you guys keep on slamming those anti-vista comments. And if you can get Big Steve to change his mind, maybe I'll take another look at Vista! (not). |

It's not the anti vista comments that is the problem, it is the stupidity behind most of them.
