Low talkers. I first thought, after watching an episode of Seinfeld, that it was just a joke, but apparently they are for real. I met one (and only) a few years ago, we were working in the same place, it was HELL to try to get any info out of him or even casual chat. I could NOT hear a single word he was saying. On the plus side, I improved my reading lips skill by +2.

yeah....

although the orginal 98 disk i have doesn't boot...

i have to configure some way to get virtual PC to boot and run the setup on the winme disk..

so far the only thing that sucks in win98se is the fact that the default drivers implemented for the system are limited to 640x480 32bit color while anything higher drops to 256...

as of yet i haven't a clue how to enable 3D drivers...

You know what really tick my tock...

God Damn authorities that emediately assume that "I" have committed an ilegal ack and Emediately suspected of it further after they "feel" my tires (in this recent episode tonight).

At first i was a fair bit confused.

Short Story Long,

Today i got the 1978 Mustang Cobra II registered and whatnot. Get to the shop where it's been sitting without moving an inch for about 8ish+ months. I do my work around the farm before working on the car.

Check things all over, oil's good, anti-freeze perfect, powersteering good @ cold and no rat nest in the air cleaner and the filters great. Transmission i can't check because the car has to have driven a good distance and all warmed up good while running. Do a sweep of the undercarriage for issues and so forth, rear suspension is shot to hell, but still safe to drive. Pump up the tires to 28 pounds, then hit the key.

Gaud it starts so well.

Drive it all the way from the shop to town at around 60km/h on the gravel roads and slowly ride it up to 100km/h on the pavement. All within or below the speedlimits.

Get into town, emediately go to my house, get cleaned up a bit (work)..... and then make an audio cd to play in the cars cd player while i drive around in it.

Leave at roughly around 11:00pm from the house, back out of my driveway into the back ally, slowly creep over to the street, make an abrupt left turn followed by another at a snails pace, and while making the turn, meet the cop. Gingerly wave and continue on. Drive around for about 10 minutes or so, get it out onto the highway, and the minute i hit a 100kim/h sign, punch it. Get it up to 100km/h in 2nd and hold it there pushing 3500rpm, go a few miles, slow and make a 2 point turn and come back, punching it the same way and holding at 3500rpm.

Get back, pull into the co-op gas station and proceed to get out and check the transmission fluid, also check for oil leaks or any other issues. Alls well.

Jump in, drive 30km/h in the 40km/s zones and 30-40km/s in the 50km/s zones. No traffic so nothing to worry about. Make a few turns and run into the same cops as well as another cruiser, before i can get anywhere near them the lights come on, i stop.

The first thing mentioned is that they aren't giving me a ticket, but then ask if i was the one stunting right before meeting them on the corner the first time. State no and they continue to ask the same question, meanwhile 2 other cops are checking out the car. My initial reaction to them was that they were just checking out the car out of interest. Initially i was confused by the question simply because i know others in town at the time were "stunting" or hearing them stunt, but i hadn't had a chance to do it let alone do that kind of stuff yet with a car just getting it's seals and whatnot warmed up. Then the suggestion that i was lieing to him was brought up, one of the cops rounds the rear end of the car and briskly mentions my tires. My first question quickly was if they appeared low or flat, and then i got out of the car to take a look thinking something was wrong with them. The cop suggested abnormal tire wear was occuring indictive of "stunting" that i had done "just moments ago" they are suggesting. I repeat, i haven't made so much as a motion to do anything of the sort, i've driven well below the speedlimit and aside from driving and pushing it a bit on the highway outside the town limits, i've done nothing of the sort at all. I also clarify that i hadn't been in the care more then 30 odd seconds before meeting the cop at the corner. Nor would it be at all wise to "stunt" down a narrow back ally onto the street right in from the cops. Yet again it's suggested that i am lieing, "don't lie to me". So i offered the cop a ride in the car, OR that if they wish they can continue to follow me around for the next 30 minutes or so. All decline, i'm warned that i'll be kepted a close eye on, and that any suggestion at all of stunting or law breaking act will result in a swift fine. They let me go without a ticket, before being able to get in the car, the cops are trying to pear into the car with their flashlights, all i mention to them is that having bars of scented soap is an ilegal substance, i've got it, otherwise the cars empty aside from the spare tire and the registration information.
